Candy corn Polish

Is it true double barred candy corn are always male? Was thinking this was a female but got told by a few people it’s double barred and that guarantees it’s a male… any insight?

Freestanding pictures would help and a good picture if the comb/wattles will help

From my knowledge, it'd be a male, because, like you said, double barring. But I can't be exactly sure.

I'm *almost* completely unfamiliar with Polish beyond the common knowledge that the adults with the 80's hair metal look are the roosters and the adults with the 60's bouffant look are females, but barring is sex-linked so while certain crosses *can* produce single-barred males all double-barred birds can only be male.

Ditto.

I think candy corn is spangling with barring (don't takenit 100% serious, I really don't know). So females cannot have double barring because females physically cannot have 2 barred genes.

Thanks! This is helpful! I have other polishes and can tell the sex by the hair, but this one was looking like a pullet and the batting confused me.

supposed to say barring.. auto correct Here a picture of my other “candy corn” this one is much darker… I had a third with scissor beak but sadly she did not make it. She passed 2 days ago she had much more color then this one. This “candy” is much darker I’m hoping he/she lightens up some after she gets her adult feathers. Fingers crossed it’s a girl because I really want to breed them! Am I able to breed the double barred with this female? Will they produce candy babies, or should I look for a different female candy? This is is about 4 weeks younger then the double barred. Obviously I will be waiting until next year to breed since they are both still so young.

Also adding more pics of the double barred for freestanding and comb/wattles best I could get. And thank you guys for the help!
