Thank you so much. I'm not at all sure that's what it is.@Willia Welcome to BYC.
Treatment for canker is Metronidazole 250mg. Give one tablet orally once a day for 5-7 days. You can cut the tablet in half in order to administer it orally using a pill cutter if you wish.
Since canker is contagious to other birds, it would be best to continue ongoing preventative treatment.
Purchase Acidified Copper Sulfate. Dosage is 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water for 3-5 days once a month to keep it in check.
Use a plastic waterer when administering the copper sulfate and do not overdose.
Here's where you can purchase the Metronidazole:

Hopefully this image helps. I just bought this amazing Chicken health book. I highly recommend it. I bought it off Amazon.Just noticed this lump on my silkie roosters beak. It's firm. He also has a yellow patch inside his mouth, just where his upper and lower beaks join. Please advise.
Thank you! I'm now thinking it's fowl pox.Hopefully this image helps. I just bought this amazing Chicken health book. I highly recommend it. I bought it off Amazon.
According to what I read there is nothing you can do once they get dry or wet pox but they can recover. It takes 4 to 5 weeks. There is a pox vaccine that is a live vaccine, which allows them to build an immunity you can give to any other chickens you may have. The vaccine can cause fever any they could stop laying during that time. Hope that helps some.Thank you! I'm now thinking it's fowl pox.
