I am giving my roosters to a fellow farmer tomorrow morning and I cannot determine whether this one is M/F. I purchased from Atwoods around the beginning of October and was told they were 1-2 weeks old. So they should all be around 18 weeks. Two other turned out to be roos and are crowing incessantly so there is no doubt, but I haven't heard a peep from this one. Could she be older than what I thought or is she a late bloomer roo?

I think that you've got a handsome Cockerel on your hands.

I really cannot make out the saddle feathers, which are usually a dead give away.

Females should be reddening up by this age also. I've not had many that start trying to mate this late in the game as far as boys go. And those would be slow developing breeds. I have a separation plan by 10 weeks usually. How long has it been red like this?

In barred breeds, the males should have double wide white stripes... I would be hesitant to say cockerel. Dark wash down the front of the leg is alleged to be female but I know this is not always true at all.

Despite everyone else's certainty... can you post a better shot. Side view, standing naturally but clearly showing the wing and saddle area just in front of the tail? :pop
