Can't find a treat

Even really young chicks (ducklings, goslings, turkey poults, whatever) seem to love tender grass -- if you have clean (untreated with herbicides) grass, cut them some (you an use scissors). You can also sprout wheat, oats, barley, or rye grains from the health food store in shallow trays of soil -- in a warm, bright place and kept moist, the shoots are ready to harvest in about a week.

I've never seen a chick or chicken that didn't love tomato... chopped finely for the little ones, of course!

They are nibbling at the cantelope that I gave them this morning. Right now their favorite treat seems to be insects. While I was out in the coop with them a little bit ago, I saw the roo jump up the try the catch a fly. Then a couple minutes later, my little Boo Boo caught a bumble bee. Everyone swarmed her trying to steal it from her. Poor thing ran into the carrier, the other 4 followed her in there and then she couldn't get away from them. Once she got out of the carrier, she ran right out the run door and ate the little bugger out in the yard and then came back into the coop. These guys sure are fun to watch.
