Can't get any fresher

DH and I got to watch our BR lay an egg in the lawn yesterday!!! She was in the nest when DH opened the coop to let the others out, well naughty naughty decided to come out too. She walked across the lawn and started squatting, and after about the 5 squat out popped an egg! It was so cool to watch. There was a bit of what looked like blood on it, is that normal? She seems to be fine though.

Great when you see that actual process, isn't it! My Polish bantam stood on my foot to lay one of her eggs!

Don't worry about the blood - it happens from time to time.

Congrats! And yes, a little bit of blood is normal.

that happened to me twice with my production red...she stands up at the last second and pop, out they come...I scooped it up still damp...the bloom hadnt' set yet.....no fresher!

Thats how mine was, still wet. Glad that the blood is nothing to worry about.
