cant tell if she's broody

i have a hen that i got on Saturday 9/28/13. i gave her 4 eggs and on Sunday she started becoming angry, pecking, growling and fluffing up. nut she get's of the nest and sits right beside the eggs a lot and sometimes not covering all the eggs. is she broody or not

It sounds like she is broody. The reason why she isn't covering the eggs all the time and not acting quite like a broody hen is probably because she's never gone broody before. She might also not be the greatest broody hen; some hens are naturally better than others, and some are terrible mothers.
