Cant upload avatar

I have tried many times and it wont work anymore. I chose a file, click upload, it says its uploading, gets to 100% and then I get a white screen. If I hold down shift and press F5, the cycle repeats. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

Did you shrink the pic? This is a link to what I use to make a pic into an avatar.

I have followed the instructions and checked the help links associated with avatars.
I have gone to the upload link on BYC and successfully uploaded/resized a picture for an avatar and saved it on my computer.
Then I go to the personality page, click "use avatar" and browse to enter the file name. As soon as I click the upload button, my file name disappears.
The file size is 2.57 KB, dimensions are 75x84. I have also tried the Shrink to fit website and the file name disappears each time I click the resize button.
I have opened my file in Paint and saved as a jpg and retried the above steps with the same results.

What am I missing????
