I would be careful with the aspirin. I know in humans if they are bleeding anywhere we don't use it as it is a blood thinner and can make them bleed more. I don't know that much about chickens but would assume it's the same.
I am so glad you are going to keep lucky and I bet he is also!
Blessings to you!

So it turns out I was just being a wuss about feeding him with a syringe....figured out it works better if you tilt their heads back a little

So he's had 4 syringes full of chick starter mixed with water and let loose another stinky, runny poo....poor guy. And then I also patched up his beak with the teeny tiny bits of tea bag and superglue....that worked GREAT! As it turns out his beak not moving around so much has made him a little happier. Still wondering about the dosage for the liquid childrens aspirin though, if anybody has experience with that I'd greatly appreciate your input

Did the lady who had him before offer any helpful information to you? Was he in that bad of shape when she had him or maybe when he escaped he could have been injured further, like a car? I just wondered if it would help to know any new injuries vs. older injuries. How long did she have him?

Hurray for Lucky and You !!Has he acted happier since he got food into him. I love it when you say he talked to you a little. Talking is always a good sign

She didn't really volunteer any info and I didn't think to ask...all I did was ask if she knew what breed he was and that's when I found out that she had just recently taken him in and didn't know what kind he was. I was just so happy to know I'd get to keep him and not have to lie or fib in order to keep him. Her first question when she called was "so did he die?" And I was so quick and proud to say that he was hanging on....oh well, my conscience is clear and I win the roo!
