Seeing Pike's limp body, throat slashed open, brought a fresh wave of guilt and pain to Terrick and he couldn't help but stare until Raven's words pulled him back to the task at hand.

He shook his head, finding it increasingly difficult to stay sharp and focused. "Another girl... Luna, told us about the exit. Shouldn't be too far ... if her map was right," Terrick said, suddenly wondering what had become of the girl. But even if she were in trouble, they were in no condition to go after her too.

With Terrick still leaning heavily on the elf, they made their way slowly back to the room where Linden and Mavis had been kept and found it quiet. "Which ... which way?" he asked Raven, unable to correlate Luna's map with the tunnels leading away from this cavern.

Raven nodded and took the lead with Terrick. She made her way back to the cavern, then turned to the tunnel that would lead to the waterfall exit. She kept the light stone glowing to light the way for the others.

As they walked, it became increasingly apparent that Linden in his current shape carrying Pike was not able to keep up the same pace as Terrick and Raven. His breathing was heavy and laboured with the load, yet he did not speak out or complain once as they walked. By the time they reached the cavern he had already broken out into a deep sweat.

Raven walked through the tunnel, slowing as she noticed that Linden was having trouble keeping up. She glanced to him then ahead to the next split in the tunnel. After this split it was a straight line to the exit.

Algar was helping Tianea and Chip clean up the mess that been made in their hallway and he swallowed an unexpected lump in his throat as he picked up the limp form of Brylla. During Tianea's fight with Luna, he hadn't even noticed her form slumped back against the cavern wall, mostly hidden by shadow and he wondered if he could have saved her had he gotten to her earlier. She was barely cold.

As calloused as he had become to violent deaths, he still had cared for the girl. A surge of anger went through him as he looked at Luna's body not far away and he wished he could kill the traitor again.

"We'll bury Brylla come first light," he announced. "That one...," his chin jutted toward Luna, "let her be a feast for the coyotes."

A few seconds later, a young man came running into the cavern, followed closely by Merek, who still had a cut piece of rope bound around his left wrist. "Did you get 'em?" he said hurriedly. "They got Col!"

The few gathered took a few minutes to get the story straight out of Merek before Chip piped up. "Col came a little bit ago, just 'fore Tianea killed Luna and went off with Wash, Teddy, Josh, and, um.. I think... Obie."

Algar swore as he set Brylla's body back down. "Grab weapons," he said to the few remaining, the anger he was feeling about Brylla's death had just found an outlet...

Raven reached the exit and looked to Terrick "You have to stand so I can open the door" She said softly then fell silent and tilted her head. Now that she was stopped she could hear movements further back in the tunnel that had nothing to do with Linden and the others. She didn't say anything about it as she turned to look for the door's catch to open it. She knew the men would need medical attention and thought of taking them to her house, still hidden from human sight near the waterfall.

(dun dun dun... lol)

Linden stopped and leaved heavily on the wall behind Terrick. If the tunnel had been lighter it would have been very easy for any of them to see how badly his knees were shaking, not to mention the alarming amount of blood that was trailing behind them. The majority of it was Pike's as the guard's ghastly wound was still seeping, but a small bit of it was collecting and dripping from the various wounds on Linden. Like Terrick, he was also beginning the feel the first signs of a shortage of blood. His eyelids felt heavy and he forced himself to stay awake, knowing that if he lost consciousness it would not only crush his own chances of survival, but also the rest of the group.

Mavis followed blindly behind Linden, focusing separately on each individual step as though it would be his last. He no longer felt tired, only numb. His brain, his body, his spirit... everything.

Raven got the door open and moved to gather Terrick again. She glanced to Linden and Mavis and shook her head, they were defiantly going to her house. It was closer and safer than going through the forest in the dark, and they could bury Pike in a safe place where his body wouldn't be disturbed.

As soon as the old wooden door swung open, the steady hum of the waterfall could be heard. Terrick was still fighting to stay conscious and let himself be half supported by the elf as they made their way through the exit. Glancing back at Linden, he could tell the man was struggling even by the dim light of the single stone. "Almost out of this hell hole," he mumbled.

"Col took 'em this way," Chip said, leading the small group toward the chamber where Linden had been held prisoner. Merek, still sore from being left bound and gagged at the cave entrance, barged into the chamber first, sword drawn. But it was deserted. "Look!" Chip pointed at the floor where the other tunnels branched off. "Blood!"

Algar cursed to himself. He pointed down the tunnel toward where Maple had been held, then held a finger to his lips as he started down it, unsure of what they would find there.
