Raven helped Terrick out the door, then leaned him against a tree outside "Just a moment, then I will take you to my house." She said and waited for Linden, Mavis and Maple to come out of the door so she could close it and block it off

Linden grunted in response to Terrick's comment, but was unwilling to un-clench his teeth to say anything else for fear that he would lose his carefully mustered composure. Almost there... the words echoed against his skull as he followed Raven out the door.

Mavis and Maple followed, their joined hands forming a chain of people so that none would get lose in the dark.

Raven closed the door then moved a log in front of it. She looked to it then went to gather Terrick again "I'm taking you all to my house to rest and recover. Follow close and don't turn from the path I go on." She said, looking to Linden and the two younger humans. She turned and started walking towards the waterfall, not following any set path, though the way seemed clear and smooth as they walked. She spoke softly in elvish as they walked.

"Quick, get some bandages over here!" Algar yelled. "Wash is still breathing too!" They'd found Josh alive as well, out of sorts from a blow to the head, but he'd probably be okay with a little time to recover. Though Teddy, Col, and Obie were not so lucky... all three of them dead at the hands of the intruders. Algar let their deaths fuel his anger even more.

"I'm going to kill every last one of those ********," the self-appointed bandit leader swore as Tianea took over tending Wash's wounds.

"That trail of blood must belong to one of them then," Merek commented, taking a step back toward the way they'd come, ready to go charging after the intruders right that second. "Now's the time to hit 'em. 'fore they get a chance to lick their wounds."

Algar was quick to agree. Leaving their wounded in Tianea's capable hands, the three followed the trail of blood toward the exit.

Following Raven, Linden's footsteps gradually got slower and slower until he was barely moving faster than a crawl. Every bone and muscle in his body screamed at him to stop, to take a break and rest, but he kept moving. Black spots swirled in his vision, making him dizzy and sick. It was becoming increasingly difficult to even see Raven clearly ahead and follow her without stumbling off the path. Just as he felt his late bits of strength fading away, Mavis squeezed his hand from behind. The gesture reminded him that there were two others relying on him to get them to safety, and again he forced his mind to focus, and kept his legs moving.

Raven paused a brief moment at the waters edge then continued straight over the water towards the seemingly small island at the center of the water. She kept glancing back to the others as she followed the hidden path. The water over the path was only a couple of inches deep and the path itself was only just wide enough for two to walk side-by-side.

Linden stopped by the edge of the water, eyeing it nervously. He hardly felt steady enough to be walking at all, nevermind walking across a narrow path surrounded by moving water. Not only would he lose Pike, but he couldn't swim. A wrong step would send them both over the edge, and Linden to his demise.

At this point Linden's leg did finally give way and he collapsed on the bank. Pike's body rolled off of him and came to a step about a foot away. Gasping for breath, he scooped up a handful of water and splashed it over his face. It ran off red, leaving a stain on the grass.

Raven glanced back but had to take Terrick the rest of the way over before coming back for them. She left Terrick on the bank of the island and came back to help Linden, Mavis and Maple.

"It's stuck!" Merek growled in frustration. They'd followed the trail of blood to the closed door. Merek was pushing against the old wooden door with his shoulder, but it wasn't budging, thanks to the log the elven woman had used to jamb it shut. Algar added his strength to the effort and still, the door refused to give. "Get me an axe!" the bandit leader said and Chip ran off to fetch one while Merek and Algar put their combined might to opening the door. And ever so slightly... it budged.

Mavis and Maple had sunken to a sitting position as well, with Mavis partially leaning on the girl. They looked about the same age, though Mavis was slightly taller. Linden beckoned both of them over to the water to drink, hoping that it would spur some more life into all three of them. Right now he wasn't sure if he'd even be able to walk across himself, never mind carry Pike and lead Mavis and Maple.
