(OOC:  She's about 18)

Brylla hugged her back, letting the news sink in.  What would happen to their crew?  Would there even still be a crew?

She'd been "recruited" to the camp at a very young age, probably about the same age Mavis was now, and hardly remembered a time when Rorik wasn't the leader of their ragtag crew.  He was hard on the young ones, just as much so on the girls as he was the boys, always demanding respect.  But when she earned his occasional praise, she felt on top of the world.

"What happened?" she asked, pushing back her own tears.

"I dont know..." Karins eyes welled up with tears. "I.. We were walking and.. i felt just something.. Telling me he died..." Karin started to cry.

"You..." Mavis gasped, his eyes growing wide as saucers when Brylla stepped out of the bush. He recognised her immediately as the girl who Terrick had struck down earlier in the battle, but up until now he had assumed she was dead. The guilt had been nagging at his stomach for hours, and now he felt like he was seeing a ghost. "But... I-I thought you were d-dead!" He stammered.

Brylla gave Karin a final squeeze, hoping the feeling was simply the girl's fears playing on her imagination and not truth. But the girl's intuition might be right. She let go of the hug in order to study the boy closer. Up until now, she hadn't recognized him, but finally recalled the boy on the horse that had knocked her down. "Not dead yet, kid," she said, standing up straighter to not let the pain in her back show as much.

Turning her eyes back to Karin, she said "If it's true, we need to get back. I'm sure the others must be planning on how to avenge Rorik's death."

Suddenly feeling a little bit embarrassed by his outburst, Mavis looked down at his feet. He hadn't noticed until now, but Brylla was quite a bit taller than him. Being high on the horse had made her look smaller then she actually was. "Wait..." His voice trailed off as he hesitated to continue. Would Brylla be okay with Karin and him leaving the bandits to find the guards? Probably not. "Look, guys," he took several steps away from them. "Why don't you go back to the base to meet with the others and find the killer... and I'll just be on my way. I'm just a bother to you any ways."

Linden stopped and refused to budge. He turned to face Col with a dangerous glare and looked down sharply at the bandit. Not only was he a whole head taller, he was also a very big man in general, with broad, muscular shoulders and thick arms. In comparison, the bandit by himself was terribly outmatched, but within the group Linden knew that Col had the upper hand. Still, the bandit's mannerism made his blood boil with anger. "Play nice, boys." He growled, barely managing to maintain enough self-control not to give the bandit a good knock between the eyes. His arms still had a small amount of wiggle room since they were tied in the front, he knew he could do it if he wanted to.

Col stared back, still high on the bloodlust of the battle and cock-sure of himself. "Or what...?" he said, right hand resting on the hilt of his blade. With his left, he pointed again at the steps that led down into the cave. "Better get movin', fore we decide you're more trouble than you're worth..."

Meanwhile, Merek stepped quietly behind Linden, ready to put an end to whatever Col was starting. He rolled his eyes slightly at Col's attitude. In this line of work, it might just get him killed one of these days...

(Is it okay if tianea can shapeshift into a white tiger?)

Tianea hissed at algar agian and her eyes flashed from human eyes to cat eyes then back again. She walked off back to her room.

(OOC: Hmmmmmm... might be an interesting twist. I'd think she would have to have been keeping it a secret from the rest of the bandit crew, else the story up to now might have been a lot different! ;) )

Algar looked at Tianea's retreating back, taking note at the rather hostile look she had just shot him. Rorik had never publicly proclaimed his love for any woman, but Algar often wondered if there was something between Tianea and Rorik. He couldn't be sure, of course, but wrote off the look as one of grief.

" I cant..." Karin looked down. "I Said i would take him back to his caravan." Karin shot mavis a warning look so he wouldnt say anything.

Mavis was surprised that Karin would admit her betrayal so openly to Brylla, who up until this point probably thought that he was Karin's prisoner and they were on their way to the base anyways. He caught her warning glance and kept his mouth shut though, waiting to see how Brylla reacted.

Brylla's head was still throbbing from the blow Terrick had given her and she blinked a few times as she processed what Karin had just told her. "Who told you to take him back?" she asked, trying not to accuse the girl of anything prematurely, but her voice held a slightly accusatory edge. "Has he been to our camp?"

Linden gave him one more hard look but decided it was in his best interests just to do what he said and follow them into the cave. The steps were quite narrow and skinny for his wide boots, but he made to the bottom without slipping. Although he would never admit it, the dim light and tightness of the cave made him slightly nervous. He was used to spending most if his time outdoors where there was almost unlimited space. Living in a cave was totally foreign to him.
