Caravan - Open Fantasy RP - Jump right in!

(No problem. Snow-shoeing sounds fun, but tiring!)

Quick to take advantage of Pike's situation, Col plucked the light stone from Pike's hand and took off as fast as he could manage, leaving an obvious trail of blood from the wound Raven's arrow had left on his leg. About 30 feet ahead of where Pike was lying, the tunnel split and the ceiling rose up so that one could stand up comfortably again. Col took the left tunnel, which would soon bring him into the cavern where Linden and Mavis where being kept. The right tunnel was blocked by heavy steel bars.

(TinyBeaks, if you're still interested in playing, your character can be there!)

(I am still interested :) )

Hearing Raven behind him, Col dashed into the open cavern where Linden and Mavis were being kept. But he didn't pause to check on the pair. Instead, he half ran, half hobbled straight through to the exit on the other side of the cavern, trying to get to the rest of the bandits.

--

Terrick, not a small man himself, was a bit slower pulling himself through the narrow tunnel. So Raven and Col were already out of sight by the time he heaved himself out of the opening. Scrambling and somewhat out breath, he crawled toward Pike and managed to hit his light stone in the process. He swore loudly as the tunnel immediately turned pitch black, but only stayed so for a few seconds before the caravan guard managed to tap the stone again.

"Pike, how bad it get ya?" he asked, giving the light a second tap to make it brighter, trying to look both at Pike's arm, then to his face to see if the man was responsive.

Raven slowed as she entered the cavern, searching for bandits. She saw Linden and Mavis and recognized them from watching the caravan earlier. She stood undecided, looking from the caravan men to the tunnel where Col had gone. Finally she went to Linden and Mavis "Terrick and Pike are with me, we came to get you out of here."

(It was very tiring... I'm so sore today lol. The snow out here is so wet and soft right now because its starting to melt, and you sink down so far if you step off the path!)

"I don't know Terrick... I thought it got me good, but I don't feel as bad right now." He reached down and tried to roll up his sleeve, but his arm was so swollen that the fabric was stretched too tight to move. "Just give me a minute and I think I'll be able to walk, it seems to be wearing off. Did it get anyone else?"

At the sound of Col's footsteps approaching rapidly, Linden scrambled quickly to his feet just in time to watch the half-dead man lurch through one end of the cavern and out the other without even acknowledging him or Mavis. He stared in bewilderment at the scene unfolding in the cavern, his unfamiliarity with Raven only increasing his confusion as she approached him. "Uh.." He stammered, trying to wrap his head around Col and her. "Okay, umm, that bandit will be back soon with company. We need to hurry. Take Mavis first, he's injured and he'll need help to walk."

The younger guard hardly even stirred as Col ran through, an indication of his deteriorating condition. Linden reached under him and lifted him easily off the cot, but was unable to move much further because of the chain around his ankle. He stood the wobbly boy up on his feet, but had to keep a hand on his shoulder to steady him. "Get him out of here, please."

Raven shook her head and dropped down to like at the chain "You are right about him coming back soon." She said and dug into her bag again. She pulled out a tiny bag and held it in her hand, frowning slightly. "I didn't want to use this, but this counts as an emergency." She said softly and opened the bag. She posted a little of the powder into the keyhole and looked up to Linden "Don't move" She warned, then used an arrow to strike the lock, breaking it open. She quickly put her things away and pulled her bow around, setting the arrow. "Go"

(I bet! I've only walked on snow shoes once in my life, for about 15 minutes, and I was tired!)

"Don't think so," Terrick answered. "It was definitely dead by the time I got to it. Here, let's sit you up," he took hold of Pike's shoulders and pulled the man into a sitting position, remembering something about keeping the snakebite lower than the heart. He wasn't sure if there was any truth to that, but figured it couldn't hurt. "There should be some anti-venom vials at the caravan" he said as he pulled a small knife from his belt, intending to cut away Pike's sleeve so the wound could be washed. He hoped the fact that Pike said he felt better was a good sign and decided to take it as one. "Where'd the other two make off to?"

(I am still interested :) )

(Terrick and Pike are close enough that your character would be able to overhear them. So feel free to have her call for help again to alert them to her presence! )

(The friend that I was with is really outdoor'sy and likes to do that kind of stuff, I was just along for the ride. I was huffin' and puffin' pretty good after a couple of hours :p )

The effects of the bite had worn off enough at this point that Pike was able to help Terrick sit him up. His left arm was still too numb to move, but his right worked normally so he used it to pull back as much of his sleeve as he could while Terrick pulled out the knife. "I think the others went through there," he jerked his nose towards the tunnel that Raven and Col had disappeared down. "Raven went after Col, that slick little cockroach. He took my light stone too, I otta break his teeth..."

Mavis swayed slightly in front of Linden, threatening to tumble head first into Raven. Before he could completely lose his balance, Linden picked him up again and cradled him across both of his arms. The kid was so light that Linden figured it would be quicker to carry him then try and make Mavis run with them. "Where is Terrick and Pike?" He asked quickly, turning towards the tunnel that Col and Raven had emerged from moments earlier.
