If death by the blade was what Merek had requested, Linden didn't see a problem with giving the man his way. It would be easier for them to do that instead of trying to haul him to the nearest town quite some distance away. "Who will be the one to do it?" All of them had killed someone tonight... but to do it to a defenceless man without the threat of battle was different.

Bree stood up, she knew Humans knew what to do with other Humans, so she wen't by their Decision. "I will do it." She said, preparing to head over to the cell.

Terrick jerked his head toward Bree, wondering at the ease with which the elf had volunteered for the job of executioner. "No, friend," he said slowly, shaking his head slightly. "He who condemns the man to death should be the one to do the killing. I can do it. But by daylight."

"We all should get some rest." Linden agreed, also wondering about Bree's intentions with Merek. "Raven, do you have room for us all? If not, I can take the floor."

Raven gestured towards the door that led to the room Mavis was in "There are three unused rooms in there, and the one the boy is using. Use them." She said and looked around at Bree, Maple and the two men. "I will rest...upstairs." It was a one-story building, but she had extra blankets and would prefer to sleep alone up there, being unused to so many around her. There were no other elves on the island but her and Bree.

Terrick jerked his head toward Bree, wondering at the ease with which the elf had volunteered for the job of executioner.  "No, friend," he said slowly, shaking his head slightly.  "He who condemns the man to death should be the one to do the killing.  I can do it.  But by daylight."

Bree shook her head, "Terrick, you know that For all the years I've worked with you, I have never killed anyone, Human, Elf, or Beast, it is time I got over it, and accept it as a part of my lifestyle now." Bree said, She smiled, before walking out towards the cell, entering it, and letting her eyesight adjust.

Terrick opened his mouth to protest, but the elf had already disappeared out the door. "Fool elf," he muttered as she left, thinking it odd that she had smiled, as if she was going out to collect berries rather than end a man's life.

As Bree's eyes adjusted to the dim light of the jail, she would notice that the door of the cell was ajar and Merek gone...

With his jaw slightly parted, Linden looked at Terrick with a puzzled expression. Had he just heard her right? "Bree..." He grabbed onto the bedpost to help him to his feet. After sitting in the chair for a couple of minutes his muscles had stiffened up but he forced himself to continue to the doorway, using various pieces of furniture to support himself. His voice held an edge of annoyance to it... it was late, they were exhausted. Nobody wanted to deal with Merek right now. "Bree stop, his life is not yours to take."

Raven moved to help Terrick as he made his way to the door. "Terrick, you need to rest, I will go get her. " She said and started walking towards the jail.
