Caravan - Open Fantasy RP - Jump right in!

Raven came down from her sleeping place and followed Terrick. She caught up to him and walked beside him. "Feeling any better?" she asked kindly. She looked to the new 'tree' near the water's edge and smiled at the ent there. By the time they would reach Pike's body they would be able to see a hole in the earth nearby.

When Linden woke he was surprised to find the room empty, apart from Mavis and Maple. He yawned and stretched. The movement hurt, but also felt good to stretch his tired muscles. He wandered over to the door and stared down towards the river, spotting Raven, Terrick and the strange tree 'thing' which he had never seen before. In no hurry, so slowly made his way down the bank towards them. His throat began to feel tight when he thought of Pike and prevented him from calling out a greeting, although he suspected Terrick and Raven would be feeling similarly.

"Better," Terrick admitted to Raven, looking down at his bandaged leg.

As he looked back toward the shore, he didn't even realize that the 'tree' had not been there the night before, and was surprised to see the grave already dug. But however it had gotten there, he felt grateful that the work had already been done. Finally, his eyes landed on Pike's form lying not far from the prepared grave and similar to Linden, he felt a lump in his throat. But he continued hobbling forward with his crutch until he stood next to his friend's body.

He cleared his throat, trying to swallow the lump, feeling another surge of anger as he looked at Pike's slit throat. As Linden caught up, he took a deep breath and nodded to the other guard. "You okay?"

Raven came to a stop, putting a hand on the 'tree' as she watched the two men quietly. She had only known Pike a short time, but had liked the caravan man.

((Hi, do you mind if I hop in? I'd like to use a reptilian race I've rp' ed a lot with. If not I'll just make a human))

(MoonSkin, I would normally say 'yes', but I think we are super close to the end of this RP. But we're planning to start up another one once this is finished. We can include you in the planning for that if you'd like. :) )

It was a long couple of seconds before Linden replied as he wasn't exactly sure himself what the answer was. Eventually he said in a heavy voice, "I will be." He sat down on his butt on the grass a couple feet from Pike's body and stared absently into the river. The seemingly endless supply of water rushing by comforted him. Life would go on. "I wonder if they are still there... the wagons, the caravan.... Do you think they would have abandoned us for dead by now?"
