careers inbetween chicken life?

Im a stay at home dad, husband, chicken rancher, mini farmer, grounds keeper, cook, house keeper, and full time caregiver for my mother who has alzheimers. My wife Jenice works in Las vegas about 70 Mi away as a dispatcher/ warranty administrator for a large company and is gone about 13 hrs a day. My father passed away in 2002 (they were living in Portland Ore)and i decided to sell my Biz (hi-rise window cleaning) in Las Vegas and move us all out of the big city of L.V to a more rural way of life. Our main goal being to be as self supporting as possible, and eventually live totally "off grid". Still got a loooong way to go tho

Good Morning all chicken lovers!!!
I work in the construction business, mainly doing remodeling. Roofing, siding, gutters, windows etc. My DH has his own concrete business.
I am alsways thinking of how I am going to remodel our new,old chicken coop:)
Everyone have a GREAT DAY!!

I'm an animal/fantasy artist. In between working with my animals and garden, I paint, draw, and do digital design work.

I am a secretary for an Alternative High School. I get all the kids you see in the news. During the school year I work regular school and nightschool pulling down 12 hour days. Summer is time for intensive mental health therapy!

Well, I haven't had a chance for a formal introduction yet, but this is a good place to start. I am a database administrator for a major retail company and my husband Mr. D owns a used car business. I drive about 60 miles each way to work and his business is about 2 miles from our house.

We own 8 1/2 acres in the foothills. We have 4 kids (18-24), 1 Grandchild and 2 on the way, 3 horses, 2 dogs, 25 fish, 1 cat, and 26 - 7 week old chickens. We have about 15 pullets and 11 cockerels (we think).

I can't wait to get pics of the "Fort Knox" coop put on this site. I read to my hubby all the predator stories, so now we have a foot of concrete all the way around the 25x25 run with the wire imbedded in it, ha ha.

Nice to meet everyone!!!!!

I'm a stay at home mama! Have been for over 13 years. We have 3 beautiful kiddos 13,10,and 7. I've tried going back to work but I just can't. I miss the kids and the animals. Many animals!!!!!! Hubby works on a drilling rig for 14 days at a time. We try just hanging out when he is home. He works sooo hard for our home, land, and way of life. I want him to be able to enjoy it while he is here. He never has to take care of the animals because of that. The kids and I do everything! Hubby does enjoy working the horses. He knows more about training them than I do. But I know more about the care and love they need. He always comments that when he comes home the horses are acting like dogs! He says I give them too much attention and I make them either a 'chick horse' or dogs. They come running to me from any where in the pasture. They rub and love on me like a dog! Our mare won't let hubby put a halter on her at all. I can walk u to her and put the halter right on her. CHICK HORSE!!

I have to admit. I love my life. It is hard with one income but I think we can handle it atleast until the oldest starts college!

I am a stay at home mama to a 9 year old son and 4 year old daughter, one huge dog, and our chickens!

DH is a tax accountant and has just merged his firm with a larger one!

I occupy myself with the organic garden, the chicks, and trying to keep the kids from killing/maiming/bugging each other now that school is out!!

House work (blech) and the garden are my things...gardening's my favourite.
