careers inbetween chicken life?

I teach chemistry and chemical engineering at a local university. I also have a 2 yr and 4 yr old. Oh, and a 300 year old house. Before that I was a certified vet tech for years- it just fed my animal addiction!

Im 30 going on 50!

I am a histologist (pathology tech) at a hospital in town. I work early hours, 4-5 AM to 1230-130 PM, with weekends and holidays off--in a hospital. My DH is a flight instructor/charter pilot. I have 4-15 week old pullets 2-RIR and 2-red sex-links. I am able to spend all afternoon with them and in my vegetable garden, until September when I will be donating a kidney to my cousin and then I'll be able to spend 3 months with them when they start laying.

DH installs and manages satellites and computers for natural gas rigs.

I'm a soap maker, my business is Southern Essence Handcrafted Soap and Gifts. I also work 10 days a month for a snack machine company, I fill up the vending machines. My DH is a HVAC Service Tech.

Last time we had one of these type threads, seemed like everyone was in the medical field!

I work in accounting for a medical manufacturing company!

My hubby is a construction/steel worker/welder!
(I wonder what kinda coop he's gonna put together!)

Two kiddies, 7 and 3, two cats, two fish and 9 chicken 3 duck order pending!

I work for a well known streetbike/dirtbike/ATV exhaust manufacturer. We also make headers and exhausts for hotrods.
I do marketing (just took that position today, actually) and sell the closeout stuff we don't want on our eBay store. Perfect for me because I like to just sit in my office and be left alone!

I was sales and purchasing before.
DH works for the City of Corona, so we have great benefits.
We're "planning" right now, so I took that new job so I'd be able to work from home in the (hopefully) near future. Then, I'll be like all the ladies on here that I envy... at home with my little one and my animals!

I'm an RN, but I am a stay at home Mom right now. Our second child was born with a serious heart defect, and is really a full time job. My hubby says I'm officially retired. Not bad at 31

The hubby works as an RN in the county nursing home, so good pay, good benefits, so I get to stay home with the kids and chickens.

I 've noticed there are a lot of us medical types out there! but as i 've said i would rather be nurturing at home all the time rather than in a hospital! i work only 3 days a week but i just cannot get done everything i need to get done. Erin M.
So sorry to hear about your baby's defect. Can it be corrected or has it been corrected? my sister had her last child with Down syndrome so she now does not work at all. What with physical therapy, speech therapy, early intervention and 3 other older children it is just too hard and she gets many respiratoty infections so it is hard if you have to add employment in that mix. She is lucky though, her heatr defect{ PFO } is so small that it was determined at this time that it is not a problem, It has not closed still but it is very small. She is almost 3 and all else aside is quite healthy. erin M.

I'm a full-time low-level secretary (ultra-boring but it helps pay the mortgage). I would love nothing more than to be a stay-at-home-mom, but I don't want kids. I want more chickens!

My hubby has his own business as a CPA. I work with him as office manager/bookkeeper/secretary. (I usually sneak in here for awhile before I start work). But I'd rather be home taking care of animals and gardens. On the side I'm looking into doing some ghost hunting/paranormal research. Animals that I have:

2 Red Star pullets (I LOVE them)

4 cats

1 yappy pomeranian

Pond with frog and snail

A couple of turtles that visit our yard daily!
