But, texasgal, how would she explain all that heartfelt crying

she did as Jose told the jury about the nasty things (very graphically, might I add) that her father did to her when she was a little girl?

This whole thing is just sickening...

there is a difference of having a Wake for an adult who lived their life and losing YOUR CHILD... it is not the same I have lost both my father and a child at birth.. I miss my father terribly but can be logical that lived the life he wanted to to m he had been happy , successful, he had his family, ups and downs.. celebrations and sadness. His was a life worth celebrating..

My daughter who died because of Cardio lipid antibodies. death was devastating for a very long time.. there was no life of experiences and love.. happiness and sadness there were no days to remember.... the death of a child is near inconsolable.... to have a child MURDERED... would be absolutely inconsolable. whether the death is at the had of the mother or if the child died by the hand of someone else.. ..... she should have shown some kind of emotion... when she was presented the pic of her child's skull... what normal person could look at that eveidence and not show emotion...

express grief differently.. hummmm

only a pathological person can behave like her.. we will see her again in the future for some reason that will once again be bad.. and maybe then the jury will say.. ummmm maybe we should have thought this one thrugh a bit first.....

A CHILD MURDER is FREE !!!! July 5th is a sad day for this nation and the judicial system.. there has been no justice for Caley Anthony...

I totally agree! We've seen OJ again, and where is he... in jail where he belongs! Does anyone remember the Duke Lacrosse case from 2006... a stripper accused members of the Duke Lacrosse team of raping her? After practically ruining a bunch of people's lives it turns out she was LYING about the whole thing. Well, guess where she is now... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/19/crystal-mangum-duke-lacro_n_850910.html I don't believe in Karma, but sometimes it sure seems like it exists.

Can Casey now speak up and say she did dump her child in the woods after say she drowned and not be able to be tried again?!

The possibility exists that the prosecution could appeal.

I don't think they have anything to base an appeal on, though.

An appeal is NOT a second trial. In an appeal, the judges on the appeal committee, can decide to undo the verdict of the original trial. It's like a committee review of whether the original trial was done properly.

That would mean the appeal judges would read the case, and the prosecution would have to answer questions.

The coverage of the case was indeed, terrible. It was ridiculous.

Legal experts were saying MONTHS ago that there was not enough evidence to convict.

It was the idiotic news media that set up the expectations to the public, that this was such a solid case - and now the public feels cheated. Lay the blame on the Nancy Graces and other non-experts who made it seem like this was such a strong case.

It was NOT.

IF the public had been told the truth from the start(that the prosecution did NOT have the type of evidence it needed for a conviction of murder 1), they would not now be so upset and angry.

Lawyers who know nothing about the case and don't have the experience to analyze what's going on, should NOT comment on these cases.

These legal loudmouths do the public NO favors.

I believe she cant be tried again..I maybe wrong though... I am so angry and disapointed in the jury, the justice system and the attorneys that are celebrating with champagne while a beautiful innocent angel was murdered and left in the woods like trash. I do not believe anything her lawyers have said. I think they should be ashamed of themselves for lying in opening statements. and putting the granparents thru that. Casey will never be able to have a normal life now. she will always be known as a person who lies.. and she will always be known as a baby killer. I dont care what the laws say. just because the jury says not guilty . she will always be guilty in most peoples eyes

Her lawyer's job is to make the prosecution do their job.

They did that.

Look, guys, if she had gotten convicted of murder one, they would have appealed and they would have won the appeal.

THIS is what kills me with her being found innocent. My son is 18, and I would be calling the police if I couldn't reach him within just a few days. There's absolutely NO logic in a toddler/preschooler being gone for a week, two weeks, three weeks... and the police were never notified?? And despite the little girl being "missing," mommy is off having fun with her friends?? The verdict just astounded me.
