I'm very sorry for posting this. I was in a hurry and didn't think about how much this could offend some people. Certainly didn't mean to insinuate anything or possibly cause this thread to be locked. I sincerely apologize to anyone who got offended. I do wish dear Caylee was still alive.

I think some of you misunderstood me though...

No, it's not better to be dead than non-christian. I never meant to say that at all. And non-christian does not = a partying loser. What I meant was Caylee would likely grow up with the same interests as her mom. Some of my best friends are not christian and they're very, very nice people.

Again, I'm very sorry. Let's please not say anything more about this, I'd hate for this thread to get locked just from my stupid comment. I'm not going to post any more on this thread...

Ok, I shouldn't post, don't need to post, said I wasn't going to post, I'm going to get my chops busted for posting, but - I'm going to post anyway.
I don't mean to anger or offend anyone in any way. This is just my own opinion from seeing a little of it on TV and such. Feel free to disagree.

I am so very glad to live in a country where a person has the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. I have traveled all over the world and think although our justice system, if far from perfect, is the best in the world. Do some innocent people get convicted? Yes. Do some guilty people walk free? yes. It's a system, and as such is contantly changing, as it should be. But it is not and never will be perfect.

This girl was tried and convicted by the media, most notably that....

kook Nancy Grace long before the trial ever started. I have sat on jury duty several times, and can tell you, not everything you see or hear in the media is true. Jurors see and hear many things not known to the public. And at the end of the day, myself as well as these jurors and any others have to follow the letter of the law. You are not allowed to convict on what you think or feel. You must use only the evidence presented and sometimes you are only given choices to vote on that are not what you would like to decide. I praise these jurors for a job done to the best of their abilities. The jury has spoken.

Here is my stand, and if anyone else mentioned it, I missed it. There should not have been a trial at this time.

As welsummerchicks has stated, from what I saw on TV, there was never enough evidence to get a conviction. I think the trial should not have taken place until they had evidence to convict. It might have taken several more years, but why try a case that has very little chance of success? Everyone is down on the prosecution for doing a sloppy job, but from what I seen, both sides were... ummm idiots?

I would rather see a guilty person walk free for a year or two until the State has prepaired an airtight case as I had see them walk free forever.
In the end it was a case that should never have been pursued until there was enough evidence to convict - "beyond a reasonable doubt". Because now she can never be retried for that crime.



Do I personally think she's guilty? Yes, I think she is in some way, form or fashion responsible for that precious little girl's death. I'm sure enough that I'd like a hand on the hanging rope myself. However I am a law abiding citizen and will abide by the jury's verdect. It's just a crying shame there were so many things mishandled and that in this case there was a trial but there is not and will most likely never be...

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm going home tonight when I get off work and I'm going to hug my kids so very tight and say a prayer of thanks that they are safe and sound and in my arms.

Apparently the jury felt the state did not prove the case. I feel as well as most people that Casey killed her whether accidentally or on purpose. That is not the same as proving it, that is called emotions. The prosecution made the same mistake that the OJ prosecution team did, and that was using the media to sensationalize a case and trying to win on emotions. It backfired. Someone said once "Better that 12 guilty men go free than to convict one innocent" or something like that.

It is over(thankfully) I see no reason to squabble over it. It is now in Karma's hands.
