Cast Iron Skillet

Is it safe to put water down for my chickens & ducks in a cast iron skillet?

I wouldn't. Iron oxidizes, and will get in the water.

It is possible to overdose on iron. Better to use something plastic, or stainless steel, so it doesn't react.

Water will rust cast iron... so it will provide some iron to them I think... but it would not be choice for long term watering purposes... as it will essentially be holey I think

I got my signs already! I like them! They were supposed to take 4-6 weeks and they already got here. Here's two:

OMG. That big egg at the bottom I put for scale? I just heard this crunching/slurping noise in the kitchen. Bucco the counter surfer had knocked it off with his giant paw, and all three dogs were licking what egg white was left on the floor. They ate the whole thing, shell and all. Bad doggies!

Pibbles, lol, they are the best! I will never be without one. Haha, when my niece (now grown) was little, she always talked about "Aunt Cindi's Pibble" cuz she couldn't say pitbull. That;'s the first time I ever heard someone else call em that!

I see nothing wrong with using an iron skillet to water your flock in but skillets are rather shallow and don't hold much water. Besides in Atlanta, Ga. from time to time you may get cold enough temperatures to burst a cast iron skillet if the H2O freezes hard.
