'C'ats 'A're 'T'ruly 'S'pecial

Yes she does have golden eyes. And your babies are beautiful too. Sorry you lost miracle. Yes Three generations. Luke is getting Nutured on Feb 10.
I also have 3 Tom cat that are strays that hang around. 2 are very tame the other a black one is very skittish.

We have had a lot of strays around also (mostly Tomcats). Right now we have Pi but in the past we've had Mesa, Orange Cat (such a clever name, I know), Black Cat, Mandy (she has a new home and is named Amber), and Chester.

I just couldn't help but post some more pictures.

Some of you may have heard these stories.

This is Nym, the orphan we took in. He is certainly my baby-cat!

Missy, a partially stray cat that we fostered for a friend while her kittens got old enough to be weaned. She was kind of very creepy, but she was also completely sweet towards her owners. This looks like something from halloween though.

Missy's four kittens: Lynx, Joy, Smoke, and Hope

Our four cats eating together with the black tomcat "Black Cat"

Mesa, the most chill and confident stray I've ever met. We planned to keep him except he fought with our cats. I LOVE his classic tabby swirls.

Pepper, a cat that had been hit by a car that we helped to save for a friend (we were pet sitting). The poor thing had been out in the hot son. We carried him to the barn and gave him food and water and to my knowledge he got better. Pepper lived at the same place as Missy. This is the farm where people would drop off strays. Our friend had something like 30 cats at one point!

Orange Cat. He had nice, beautiful, long hair but he also fought with our cats. He nearly killed them and so we couldn't keep him. We did, however, get him neutered so he hopefully won't fight anymore.

Mandy, our only truly stray female cat. We picked her up from a parking lot where she was begging for food but she attempted to kill all our other cats in a wild fury so we gave her to our friends where she is very happy.

Black Cat showing those beautiful eyes of his. He went to a shelter along with Missy's four kittens to be adopted.

Tabby (she was too skinny because of worms) with her seven kittens learning to feed from a plate. I loved how they toddled around!

Miracle curled up in a hat looking SOOOOO cute.

Pygmy, one of the cats we lost. He was a sweet, calm soul. Much larger then his sister, mother or uncle (he took after his father). He was his mother's best friend and Tabby was her uncle's best friend. Now poor Scardy cat doesn't have a friend.

The amazing picture of Gerbil our dog, Miracle our cat and Thomas the turtle (we were pet sitting) all sharing looks of curiosity. I just love this picture.

Miracle's story is INCREDIBLE! We did loose her to the road when she was only a year-old (on Easter), but that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy every moment we had with her. She was such a sweet cat.

So, Tabby, our barn cat, decided to get pregnant. She was young, the daughter of Scardy-Cat (who had been spayed). Tabby fell in love with the tomcat Chester and the day after we brought her into our basement she became a mother to a litter of six kittens: Chester Jr., Bugsy, Gracie, Sammie, Puma and Miracle.

However, when I realized she was giving birth as she snuggled up to me I ran up to get my mother and we went to and found, in her nesting box the still and lifeless form of her first kitten. We lifted it up and Mom breathed into the little kittens mouth, bringing her back to life. It was amazing. This picture is just as the kitten came back to life (her mouth is still hanging open). She is wrapped in a sock and still wet. And that is why we named her Miracle.

The kittens grew and were loving and so cute! Chester Jr. is the only kitten that wasn't a tabby. He has the white markings on his face.

They got to meet Gerbil our dog, who was VERY protective of them. Here he is trying to keep them from escaping.

They also got to meet Esther, our wanna-be-momma-dog, while their own mother spent a little bit of time outside. We would use the kittens to lure her back to us (Tabby was only friendly when pregnant or nursing, otherwise she is terrified of us).

Tabby finally decided she didn't want to go back inside, she wanted to get pregnant again.

So we took the kittens indoors at just 4 weeks of age and weaned them onto milk and wet food. Sadly, the shelter's vet gave them their vaccinations too early and we are pretty sure this is what caused four of the six to die soon after bringing them in. It was very sad. Bugsy and Miracle survived this.

The two were happy though. Here is Miracle getting love from her uncle Arby.

Bugsy was healthy and full of energy and he got sent to the shelter to be adopted. We kept Miracle

The difficult birth seemed to have caused brain damage to some degree, as she would often have her "third eyelid" partially covering her eye and she sometimes would get stuck to furniture and not know how to pull her claws free.

Tabby got pregnant again (we fixed her after this litter)

She had a little of 7 healthy kittens.

Before they got adopted out Miracle got to meet her younger siblings. She wasn't too sure what to think, but she was friendly enough towards them.

Miracle was so sweet and playful and had a beautiful blue-grey coat. She, however, never learned from her parents how to cross the street safely and we lost her to a car. It was a very sad day, but her joyful life will always be remembered. Now we have another cat living in the house, Nym, the orphan we took in and raised. He is way not as nice as Miracle, but he's still my baby-cat.

Thank you for sharing your pictures and their stories. Such beautiful kittys.

Nym is a good looking little fellow.
And the silver and black classic tabby are my all time favorite.

Thanks. He's my silly cat, but also so very handsome (funny how animals can be both).

Such a sweet little orphan cuddled up in a hat. We would carry it around and he would sleep in it, no matter where you placed it. So precious.

However, he didn't get along so well with the ferrets at first. Navasca bullied him (she never actually hurt him).

But with time he began to learn how to fight back.

Now he always wins.

He's one tough dude (or so he likes to think) and sometimes I certain he has to have some bengal cat in him, just because of how unique his coat texture seems to be and his ticking in his fur and how long his back legs are. Not to mention his nasty temper.

That's so cute! Same thing with my cats! Oliver trained Daisy when she was a kitten to play fight. Now she tears out his fur when they do it! :p

Has anyone else ever stepped in cat vommit at 5 am? That is what I did this morning. Cassy smells, bad. She has IBD and occasionally gets constipated. When that happens, she does not groom herself. I never like dealing with it, so it is a trip to the vet in the near future. I feel bad, because treats, even 1, make her throw up twice. So every morning, I wake up to meow, meow, meow, meow, meow , MEEEEEEOOOOOOOOWWWWWW. I don't mind, because I know things can change in an instant. I found out the hard way. My old cat (RIP) Lola, was the sweetest, healthiest cat ever. Well, last year, I stayed with my cousins for Christmas. The dogs have a big backyard, but one room with a normal door, and on the other end two slider doors. I was going to latch it when I got back. I still feel horrible because I only said "Bye Lola, love you, you be good." And gave her a quick scratch under her chin. The morning of day two at cousin's house, the pet sitter called me. The dogs had managed to push open the slider doors, and Lola was dead. Cassidy was on medication for stress, so she was just soaking wet from dog drool, and the dogs didn't go after her. It is likely Lola died from a heart attack, cause she had no puncture wounds. If I had known that was the last time Lola would be alive, I would have said goodbye, with scratching her and petting her, telling her how much I love her. To this day, I still blame myself. It was all my fault. The point is, I now treat every moment as if it their last. I am so sorry Lola. It was all my fault
