Cats!!!!!!!!!!

I'll take cats over breakables any day - but i'm kind of strange that way.

I fixed pork chops the other night, with mushroom soup over them, and then dressing topping that. One of our favorites. I told DH that it was ready, and I went ahead and ate. BUT, being DH that he is, he messed around and went out and did some things and I went through the kitchen and just glanced at the casserole I left on the stove, and stopped dead. Thought to myself, "I know there were THREE chops left, because I only ate one! PIERRE!", so I covered them more tightly and went and did some chores and came back through and THEY WERE ALL GONE. I just hated to have to tell DH that his supper was gone, and he would have to eat hotdogs. BUT, on the flip side, when I tell him supper is ready, I DON'T MEAN IN HALF AN HOUR. You snooze your loose around here. What makes me so mad about Pierre is, he gets a can of wet food every morning, eats the dogs food as well, and has access to dry food all day long, and he is determined to eat ours. I fixed BLT's tonight, and they are in the fridge. DH can heat the bacon up!!!!

Reminds me of a meezer (siamese) story I heard. Lady left fish to thaw on the kitchen counter. Little while later here comes her meezer with a piece of fish. She decides to outsmart the cat - is that even possible? - and thaw her next fish in a sink full of water. Little while later, here comes a soaking wet meezer with fish.

I love cats, and I think they vary more in personality than dogs do. One of our current kitties, P-Kitty, likes to barf in the middle of the night. You hear that horrible ca-ca-coughing noise and wonder which of you is going to find the results with your bare feet when you need to go pee at 3 am. ARGHHHH!!!

We're not always good about getting the laundry folded promptly here. The cats are good with that, especially Katie. She loves to burrow under the clothes with only her face showing. She is a white cat with brown markings and blue eye, and in a pile of socks and unders all that shows is the pink nose, blue eyes, and dark ears.

My sister lives in Alaska. Her cat doesn't like playing with prey in the cold. She catches mice and voles and brings them in alive to play with. Yep, the cat brings mice INTO the house.

My cat is a very good sportsman as well, practices catch-and-release. Catch the mouse/rat/bird and release it in the house. In Georgia, so, its not a weather thing.
My talents now include being able to catch a mouse by its tail barehanded and gently toss it outside in the bushes. Never would do that with a rat. Birds get the blanket tossed over them.

Cats do have personality out of this world, my Buddy who died this past Feb., was 13, and I still miss him. He was a "talker", and one day he and I were out back in the family room and something fell somewhere in the house. I jumped and looked at Buddy and said, "what was that?" and I swear by everything Holy, that cat looked at me and said, "I don't know" . . .I laughed so hard I scared him. He was a character. When he was looking for Pierre, who is now 13, he would go through the house with this pitiful cry only for calling Pierre. I thought Pierre wouldn't last long after Buddy died, but he is still here stealing food. Ham and Beans tonight, so the lid is on tight!!

I'm sorry for the loss of your Buddy, WW.
I'm afraid KiKi learned something new this morning.
Her feed bowl and Kitty's are in two different places. KiKi's on a diet, Kitty is not. KiKi always licks her bowl clean, Kitty is a nibbler.
This morning KiKi realized that once her bowl is empty, there's another bowl still half-full. Looks like Kitty will be going on a diet, whether she likes it or not.
