Cattail fluff question- flooring and/or nest boxes.

I see a lot less cattails now than years ago. Partly because invasive purple loosestrife is crowding it out. So, a reason to not use it much would be to leave enough for it to reseed itself, keep its bed happy, and do whatever it does in its natural nitch. This may not be an issue everywhere.
Yes indeed, and excellent point. I would reseed my own ponds. I live in moose country where marsh is plentiful and so there are miles and miles of cattail habitat. I would certainly plan to select cut as to not alter the ecosystem. I'm a softy for our Michigan moose.
