I know that cement(the main ingredient in concrete) won't fully cure at less than 55F.
Some mixes have additives that allow the cement/water chemical reaction to cure at lower temps. Cement that has been stored in a moist environment can absorb enough moisture to lock up the catalyst capacity.
Sorry, trivia that I learned when doing concrete sculpture.

But you might be fine for post anchoring.
How far down will you dig?

Wait I'm supposed to have chosen a depth for these post holes??
Planned to dig till it looked good lol. I suppose 2 feet seems reasonable, might not be the usual target but they will only be about 18 inches high.

I'll look at the concrete bags, the Lowes guy said it should be ok for my project, for what that's worth. I know nothing about concrete.

Can't start too early, it's 17 here! Grr enough already! ❄

Here's the master plan. Red is 4x4 posts. Yellow is a low plank "wall" to attach the CP to. The 4th post will be for a header, the upright post at the other end will rest on the sidewalk and be part of the door frame.

The whole thing has shifted a bit towards the bottom of that drawing and will encompass the current coop door now.

See this beam to attach goes over the door.

Not sure I posted that. It's just propped up there while I worked on distance. Now it's buried under snow with its brethren. But I'll find them!

Interesting to note that I flipped that panel over and it arced completely differently. Lost the flat/bowed part at the top.

Also the more I have time to think instead of work on it, the possibilities are growing(uh oh) in my mind. If things come together as solid as I hope, and IF I can control the summer temps, I could even remove the wall between the coop and hoop and just open it all up. Certainly adding 1 or 2 breeding/ grow out pens in there.

We'll all need it next winter when snow load tests this largely unproven physics gamble I feel the need to take. On second thought I'll keep that wall in until I've seen it hold the snow up!
