Hi All,
I am desperately looking for help. We have (had) three Cayuga Ducklings, about 4 months old now. We recently moved them outside with some older but not mature ducks of ours and they were doing great. Well, we went outside Saturday morning to find one of them all but dead, she wouldn't move her feet, and her neck was slumped over, I tried giving her some water but sadly she died shorty after. My first thought was botulism as the limberneck fit but they have fresh water every day and I even cleaned their tub. This morning the second of the three was found dead also with the same symptoms. And she was 100% fine yesterday; eating drinking, playing, etc. They have fresh water, clean food, clean bedding, no visible marks from the other ducks (and we havnt witnessed any of them picking on each other even once). Now we are left with one duckling. I have separated her from the group and I cannot find anything wrong with her anymore than the others with the exception that she has very pale gums and seems hoarse. Her still is a little hard compared to normal so I know she needs to drink water but I could not get her to drink water this morning also and am concerned but I cannot find anything on the internet to help save her. She wont let me feed it to her with a syringe either. Ideas - please!
