Cayuga Ducks

Here are some pics of ours...same as with the person above, we sold them right before they were about to lay. They werent loud at all and they were very nice. Yes, males will get a tail curl, but before that you can tell by their quacks (female=loud quack male=raspy) also, the males have brighter green plumage....

I have one of those ducks too. I love the green on them that shines in the sunlight. Mine I believe is a male? Not sure but he/she is bigger than all the rest of my ducks. I havent had any eggs yet. I wish I had more of this kind. I love his tail curls too.

I have Cayugas. I love them. I have black, blue, and a silver drake. Here is an old picture of them from last fall.

They are equally as loud as any other domestic duck, just hens
They lay about 1 a day for 6-9 months of the year
They arent mean at all
True cayugas, arent supposed to fly at all, mine cant even get off the ground
In addition to the tail curl, which isnt always there, voice sex, hens quack loud, males are a raspy much quieter sound, males are much more iridescent green than hens, and the easiest is male have a yellow green bill, hens bills are blue black colored.
Get ya some, they are great, we have them in black, blue and splash!!

I just got Cayugas and want to learn more about them! Mine are about two weeks old. I have two females and a neighbor is raising two also, a pair. I have them with some Muscovy of similar age. They sure boss the Muscovy around!
