Others on BYC seem to have used it, at least for ducks in the one thread I read. I'm not sure about the topical ointment mentioned. CBD can be used topically as well.

Yes, I saw the duck post too, but have not found too much on chickens. I would imagine they are very similar in anatomy and physiology, but I am not too familiar with ducks.

hmmm interesting. That could work. Is it safe for chickens? sometimes they are so sensitive to things we wouldn't think...like lidocaine.

I have never tried it. I know there are a lot of things people use that are safe but there are a lot of unsafe things that you wouldn't think was that harmful to chickens, let alone animals.

I would think CBD with very little to no THC would be the safest.

I am definitely looking into it. It would be cool if someone started a CBD product for chickens though.

Yeah, I am thinking I might try it. Chickens are great at hiding pain and her poor little toes look painful so I can only image that they are. I live in California so its very easy to a hold of some CBD oil.
