Anyone feed Purina's , I think Country Time?/

I am currently feeding 26 chickens Nutrena Nature Wise at 14.00 a bag 50 pounds, I can purchase the above for 10.00 a 50 pound bag, but, I do not want to feed the chickens junk.

How about Dumor's Feed, which is also cheaper

I do not want to lose customers, but, the savings would help

Hi, i supplement with veggies, no supplements, do you recommend supplements??

The bag of Country Acres did not have an ingredient lable, cannot find the ingredients list, googled, check Purina and its subsidaries
what the heck are the ingredients.

If you keep chickens for hobby purposes, such things matter, but only so much.

But if you keep a laying flock? Sell over 10 dozen eggs a week? Feed cost absolutely matters!!! I don't do all those chores for fun.

I pay $17 per 100# for Hubbard Layer at a local mill. If I ever decide to dispense with the egg business aspect and downsize to my hobby heritage birds only? Well, then perhaps I'd not be nearly so penny pinching on the price per pound to dozen egg, spread sheet factoring. As long as we have a business component to our small farm, then you know the old God Father saying, "Hey, this ain't personal, it's business".

Find a local feed mill that grinds their own feed. A high quality, national or regional brand feed mill. You'll never likely find pre-bagged, retail stores selling feed anywhere near the price.

Yes, we do sell the eggs have regular customers and some drivebys.

I am returning the bag, staying with Nutrena, and my dogs also do very well on Nutrena Loyall Senior dog even the 19 year old who has had a few issues with pancreatitis.

With 26 laying hens, I cannot risk the chickens getting ill from a feed that may be outdated, no label with ingredients, etc.

Yes, some table scraps, as it is now only my husband and I, but, during the summer the chickens get fresh veggies from our farm.

During the winter , I purchase what is inexpensive as far as green fresh veggies for the girls.
