Hi, I am new to this forum and just saw this thread a few days ago. I don't live too far from where you all had the swap meet. I am in Marion County. I would have come, but I am not quite set up to get my chickens yet. I was planning for spring.
Maybe next time.
Until then, I can't wait to hear about what everyone got.
Sorry we couldn't stay long. Maybe next time we'll have things to trade too.
Some beautiful silkies there, but dangit most of em were roos!
OldtimeGator--The orps were beautiful carriders, we had the lid off their container and they stole french fries, happymeal toys and tried to grab a phone, not to mention Calista's (the little girl that was with us) eye lashes, lol!
They are in the big coop and they DWARF my lil silkie Oprah! They are smart though, I opened the chicken coop door and was trying to grab something out of it and they sauntered up the stairs past my arms and into the house.
Don't seem to mind being pet.
I'm going to bring them to my mother's house tommorow so she can start her own little flock!
Hello to all that were there....what a great time!! Thanks for coming...some from a loooonnng way. Let's plan another one for the early spring sometime.
Kelly, thanks so much for hosting us. Take care of Felix and Apple!!
Thanks everyone for coming! We had a GREAT turnout! I can't wait to do it again. I got rid of more thatn I acquired, so it worked as planned. Here are my 2 new chickens, Apple and Felix:
Here's Apple meeting the other family members:
I haven't gotten pics of the duck yet. I felt bad for him b/c he was trying to be friends with the chickens and they kept running away screaming and my roo was pecking at him, but I think they figured it out and Crackers is sleeping in the coop with everyone else. I'll get pics tomorrow.
