Central Florida Chicken Swap & Sale Sept 18th, 2010 Ocala

Thanks Eric & Le for the wonderful swap. It was so nice to see Vickie, Heather, Debra, Robyn, Annika, Will and others. Met some new peeps today, which is always great. I have pics on my computer but for some reason they won't upload. My internet connection is acting up. I'll work on it.

This was our first swap. We ended up not taking anything, we just wanted to see what it was like. Of course, we came home with three new additions to our chicken family. It was great meeting some of you BCYers! We look forward to doing this again.

Can't believe I missed the chicken costume!

I got rid of the 4 roos I brought and came home with 3 pullets...Razzle, Dazzle, and Una are settling in well!

What is involved in hosting a swap? I have two acres in Lakeland and I wouldn't mind hosting a swap of some sort...I think we have enough room for set up and parking, just wondering what's involved...

Most importantly is having the space and plenty of advertising. Plan ahead... The further you plan ahead and advertising will pretty much dictate the turnout you will have. I host swaps at my farm and also at our local Tractor Supply store. TSC hands out fliers for me as well as advertising on Craigslist and other places.
