Okay, getting spooked here... I've been reading lots of horror stories about wasted time/money having eggs shipped, although some report good luck. Since I'm coming out Saturday and am SO excited about buying sillystunt's incubator (broke down and bought Tractor Supply's last egg turner, now looking for a fan kit) I hope there will be some fertile eggs I can buy to try this thing out so I don't have to resort to ebay! Don't much care about breed, I'm so new to this I don't have any preferences. Please tell me there will be fertile chicken eggs!!!

Hi Annika, thanks!! I don't have a set-up for ducks so I'm not interested in those thanks, maybe someone else is... I'd LOVE some EE and what are "sizzles?" My pullets have only been laying for a couple of weeks and the cockerel is the same age, and not too lucky in love... so I can't be sure if I'd have fertile eggs from them. Maybe in the spring when I try to incubate in my classroom (sounds unhealthy, doesn't it?) I'll use mine. In the meantime, YES PLEASE bring some fertile EE eggs for me. Maybe only 6 since there's a VERY strong possibility I won't do too well and I sure don't want to feel like a murderer, let alone a massacre-er. NOVICE QUESTION FOR YOU: Would I be able to let the fertile eggs sit on the counter for a couple days while I attempt to get the incubator a constant temperature? I also hope to have the fan kit by the weekend. What else might I need besides a baby shower?????

You know you can use a computer fan and sizzles are a mix of silkie and frizzle and when they hatch you have a chance of getting a sizzle all the quality of a silkie but with hard feathers and they grow backward, or what I call a fluffy sizzle where they were all the features of a silkie but they are fluffier cause they feathers grow backwards and then there is the smooth has qualities of the silkie but feathers look like a regular chicken or a silkie and just carries the gene of the sizzles. I have four differnet color and pens of sizzles. I have a blue roo with 2 black hens, I have a pen with a black roo and a white frizzle hen and a white and tan ameracauna frizzle hen she lays a green egg. I have a red frizzle roo with 3 white silkie hens. I keep improving my breeds each year. I have some blue frizzle hens that are going with my black silkie roo....soon. I will save you some ee eggs for you and they will be fine sitting on the counter a couple days. they will be all less than a week old. the only other i can thik of is a brooder for the babies....

Annika
