Wow is that hatchery a normal one? Do all the chickens in these hatcheries have such dismal existences? Drawers of baby chicks - and stacks of laying hens? Those were some really sad photos.
Without a doubt when money and animals are involved together the animals always suffer. I don't think I'll ever be ordering from large hatcheries again.
I've ordered from them. Great birds. Flaws? They take checks only. And make sure payment is in advanced as I had my check sent out a little late and my order was cancelled and was called and notified about it. After some explaining my order was put through though my original sil-go-links were sold to someone else and they scrambled and got me a huge mix of all their pullets and was given a few extras to make up for the mix up. Overall they are real nice hatchery. I have a 100 hundred RIR pullet order from them due this Wednesday or Thursday.

that's good to know. an acquaintance of mine is thinking of ordering 500 from them and wanted to know if i wanted to split some with him.
he says his RIRs are like the original birds, very big and lays well. i believe that's what we'll be ordering. please let us know how his birds look when you get them.
I already had some come in my first order. There was about 20 but they didn't last long! My customers around here are RIR crazy! I tried to keep a few for myself but they were the first breed to sell out. I'm waiting on my big order should be tomorrow that they arrive.
