Central Maine Bird Fanciers Club Show May 27th

I'm bringing paint silkie hatching eggs 6 or 12, these will be paint roo over BBS hens. can also do a mix of paint and white roo over white (some BBS in this pen but not laying)

Washed 6 birds on Thursday, took from 9am to 2pm washing, blow drying! I hope mine stay clean too! Can't wait to see everyone, should be a great day! I'm going to try and get there around 7am to set up and get the birds in their cages. Is the goat show on too? Would like to watch them too.

there is a goat show today, i believe it continues tomorrow but not 100% sure.

we have some really great raffle items that have been donated- a few that I know of are:
a stained glass serving tray, a voice activated pitching machine for kids, a floating cooler and a humming bird feeder and food.
I made the tray, I'll post a picture of it.

Love the Tray! Came out nice!

I just got back-- now I'm ITCHING to get chickens of my own! I think I may also have fallen in love with Buff Cochins-- the ones up for judging were so handsome! Are they more meat birds as opposed to egg layers, though? They're so big, lol. I was also pretty tickled by silkies. They're so cute! Is there any special maintenance required of them?

I didn't see any Delawares, though. I was hoping there would be turkey poults around, too! I'd love to have some someday.

congrats to Joanie on her win today. what nice weather for a show, lovely auction items and raffle items.
on the cochins, they are alot of fluff, not so meaty and the silkie don't take alot of extra care but you do need to make sure they can see. (haircuts help in the spring if you are not planning to show)

Congratulations Joanie on your Big win! Your Black Cochin was amazing! It was a Great day at the show! I came away with BB & RB& BV & RV's with my Silkies out of 21 Silkies entered, so not a bad day! The Jr. group was just awesome! Lots of Happy little people who came away with some great wins!

Sale Birds didn't last long! Most Everything was sold out by around noontime!

Thank you Larry for the two little white silkies, their just adorable!
