like but you get an idea of the 1 anyway. The other 1 was stressing out to much so i didn't get any good photos of her...

so what does everyone think ? the 1 the photos are of is "Jackie" . She's pretty sweet and my favorite so far of all my birds...2 adults 2 juveniles and 19 9 day old chicks...

Are you sure they aren't dirty? It looks like a Texas A and M with stains. They can get stains from their fecal matter or what they were housed in. I am not satisfied to say it is a pied or tuxedo, I can definitely say that most Texas A and M are not bleach white

It's like a white silkie that has stains.

i'll try to get clearer photos tomorrow ...i had no idea it was so difficult to get a bird's picture ...i think it was easier to get my Zebra finches to pose when i had them than the Coturnix! LOL
i don't mean to sound dumb but what do you mean by"color bled"? Some of their feathers are a clear, bright white and others are the cream/champagne shade...
this whole Coturnix thing is new to me. They're alot different from Zebra finches, cockatiels, budgies and such which i had for many years.
Any input /clarification from more experienced people is hugely appreciated. These birds fascinate me.

When I mean color bled, the bird could have gotten splashed by water that had electrolytes (yellow powder) and the yellow got on the feathers and faded in, like a stain. I know that when my birds were pricked for the NPIP, the blood made them pink for a week. I had to wash them in special solution to get white again, but then they dust bathe in dirt at times and well, they have a tint off white color at times when I don't bathe them. Japanese Coturnix are facinating birds, that's why I love them so much. You may have a pied/tux, I am really not sure unless I see a picture more clearer.

They have been exactly this color since i got them about 2 months ago.
what is your definition of PIED ? To me it is a bird whose feathers are somewhat mottled/splotched with 2 different colors in a random pattern. i know they're not Tuxedoes ,markings are wrong .I looove the Tuxedo markings though.

It would be pied, splotches of one or two colors, color tip, the back can have a different color than the front. Your birds would show to be pied if not "dirty." By chance, are you in the U.S or abroad?
