What should I avoid while using Neosporin? It was regular. Oops I didn't knowDo you think that's what it was? I had a chick I used it on earlier this year and she is ok.
X2. I have used plain Neosporin in my chicken’s eye, and it is fine. Ideally, if we could use sterile Nesosporin ointment or drops that were ophthalmic, we would, except they are prescription only. However, if one uses a clean tube of Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment, they are the same ingredients. The ingredients in Neosporin are safe for the eye.![]()
That quote above about not getting it in eyes is from a Neosporin info pageThe ingredients in Neosporin are safe for the eye.![]()
yeah, that's just a CYA statement. The ingredients in it are will not cause blindness. Heck, I used it in my own eyes. That quote above about not getting it in eyes is from a Neosporin info page
Can you please cite the source for that? Neosporin is widely advised on these forums, including in/on the eyes. I personally have not needed to use it on my flock except for a comb tear and an earlobe tear, but would use it in the eyes if I thought it would help.
