I just read your BYC Member Interview and realized we're only a couple hours away from each other! For some reason when you said Central TX, I was picturing San Antonio.

I'm about 40ish minutes east of Waco now, been here almost 6 years. It's nice and quiet

Well, Langdon is finally crowing (it's pitiful ) and he is trying to breed with Zoe and Fiona. We're making progress! As soon as I get another video (I accidentally deleted the one from today)I'll post it. He's 20 weeks old today.

Zoe laid her first egg at 19 weeks old today, a beautiful sky blue. Lady is still broody as all get out, I tried to let her out to see and she went straight to the nest box and I put her straight back in the grow out pen If she hasn't snapped out of it by Friday I'm putting her in a dog crate cuz I absolutely need these littles out of my house and I'm sick of the lunacy!

Fiona laid her first egg today, albeit very small But I'm very pleased with the color!

Things are changing with the flock dynamic. I let everyone out yesterday for some grass time and just watched them for awhile. One of my OG's, Betty, got all puffed up flared her hackles and started walking towards Langdon, then he got all puffed up and flared out, then she attacked him. She doesn't weigh but maybe 4lbs and I thought,"damn girl, what are you thinking" I let them do their thing, it lasted about 5 minutes, no one was seriously injured. Langdon took his 3 ladies plus 2 more one way and Betty and the others went a different way. This morning on the camera it was the same thing, she made a beeline for him when he went out into the chicken yard. The confrontation was brief. I'm just gonna see how this plays out, she may need to be locked up for a couple days for disturbing the peace

Went out to do chicken chores after work, the littles are doing great, Langdon has a few nicks on his comb and wattles (nothing serious) apparently Betty got all western on his ass He is actively breeding Dahlia (black English Orpington) Man, those would be some gorgeous, large birds! Candled the eggs, the remaining 12 look good, though some are really hard to see into. I've picked the 4 I'm giving to Cersei (I'll take a pic tomorrow or Friday) the others I'll hatch and they are spoken for regardless of count.
