Yep! I hate doing it, but love the gratification! It was so humid this morning, I was dripping sweat!Don't you love that feeling?! I always have to quickly take a picture before the chickens mess up all my hard work.

Oh that's a shame. It's good you've got chicks hatching soon for her.Had an unfortunate mishap yesterday. So Betty still refuses to let Langdon need her, she stays far away from him. Yesterday, Onyx took her broody break and Betty went in her nest to lay, Langdon went over there dancing and clucking for her and she bolted out of the nest resulting in all of the eggs (4) getting broke besides 1. After work I cleaned the nest box and filled it back up with hay and took the remaining, unscathed egg and put it in the incubator with the others. She is perfectly content sitting on golf balls until I give her these chicks. 7 days to go
I've never had a problem like this, but did decide to only give her so many of the Marans eggs and leave the rest in the incubator, I'm glad I did! The 6 in the incubator looked good last time I candled, I'm gonna check again tonight.Oh that's a shame. It's good you've got chicks hatching soon for her.
I should of timed Copper with a hatch but wasn't thinking. I do have Lil Jessie's hatch timed with the Brinsea just in case, but her 8 eggs are still going strong.
Hopefully I just didn't jinx myself.![]()
She's a great broody! She hatched 3 batches of chicks last year and raised the Wheaten Marans, which came from Meyers. She is as dependable as it gets!Thankfully she sounds like she's committed to those golf balls so hopefully she'll accept the incubator chicks!
