Change of plans

Over a week and a half since I noticed the fowl pox infection, no new infection as of today :woot I cleaned and put away the grow out coop today, so no more hatching this year. We're fixing on doing the roof extension weekend after next. And I have plans for a breeding area. I'll upload pics soon.
Yay!!! Breeding area sounds interesting.

I'm pretty excited about it! My husband really isn't, lol, but it won't take much work. We'll basically just be extending the grow out area, so it'll be 14x6. That way I can separate whoever I'm wanting to hatch from.

Chicks are 3ish weeks, I spot 1 for sure OE cockerel, the ameraucanas are gonna be a hot minute before I can even guess who's what sex wise. They were not cooperating for picture time, lol

Those pure ameraucanas will probably not be obvious until much later. So freaking cute!
Yeah, all the am's I've had are usually around 6-8 weeks before I have a good idea, so we've got a ways to go, lol. But all these littles are cute as can be (but aren't all chicks🤣). I can't wait for them to feather in some more, watching how they change is one of the most exciting parts!

This one decided to fly up and get a better look at the perpetrator 🤣
Onyx has started laying again, she was being a total coop nazi today, kicking everyone out until she laid, lol

And so it begins with the neighbors behind us🤬🤦‍♀️
Do u have a camera that has a view in between ypur burn pile and pecan tree?

She doesn't lock her birds up, she doesn't feed them until mid winter, but when the predator feast begins, she's concerned, smdh. This is why we are fencing the rest of our property this winter, her birds bring the predators to close for comfort (because they are looking for food)

Oh no! That pile of feathers is from one of your neighbor's birds, right? Not yours, hopefully!

Yes ma'am, she has extremely poor husbandry practices. This happens every year. It disgusts me.
