If it’s an issue, I order the Kalmbach All Flock crumbles from Chewy, no issues yet

Definitely let me know! Chewy told me they would keep shipping their stock and not pull anything off the shelves unless Kalmbach issued a recall. So I emailed Kalmbach with the info!Oh wow! Thank you so much for the heads up. I already ordered my first bag and it should be delivered in the next few days. I'll let you know if it smells bad and matches your tag number. Yikes!
Good news - Kalmbach already replied to my email and said they were working with Chewy to pull the rest of the affected inventory from that warehouse. I’m impressed with how quickly they responded and took action!Definitely let me know! That's awesome! I'm still waiting for my delivery.. we've had massive storms here and everything has been delayed.Good news - Kalmbach already replied to my email and said they were working with Chewy to pull the rest of the affected inventory from that warehouse. I wish! I checked first before ordering through Chewy but no luck finding it locally.I found it to be much less expensive at a local feed store vs chewy (around $12/bag difference) if you have any local feed stores that carry it.
Its well worth it IMO even at Chewy pricesI wish! I checked first before ordering through Chewy but no luck finding it locally.
And that's even MORE interesting as hubby said since we switched to Flock Maker crumbles a couple of years ago, he'd like me to show him how to crack the eggs because they're so tough.Interesting you mention that because mine have had very thin shells since switching to Kalmbach layer feed (I'm now switching back to Dumor because of that). They have access to oyster shell but it doesn't seem like they've touched it.
Mine are fans. I switched to Kalmbach Full Plume Feathering Pellets. It has more calcium than their Flock Maker and is still 20% protein. I still give oyster shell in the side and feed them back the egg shells but I find the extra calcium in the feed reassuring.I have been feeding my chicks Dumor chick starter/grower crumble feed. They're 16 weeks now and after doing a lot of research, I'm going to stick to 20% protein instead of switching to Layer or All Flock at a lower protein percentage. I have 1 cockerel and 11 pullets. They will have access to oyster shell separate from the feed.
Everyone seems to recommend Kalmbach. They don't carry it at my local TSC but I found it on Chewy. I'll like to switch to pellets to keep the mess down and found the Flock Maker has a pellet option.
Any advice/opinions on this plan?
