My chicks are 5-6 weeks old, inside the sunroom.
I started off with a tupperware with water in it. The gals would often over turn the water dish as they got bigger. I switched to hamster/gerbil/rabbit water bottles. They love it.
When I did the changeover, I tapped the water bottle nozzle and let the water trip from my finger tips. Chicks quickly got the hang of it.
The chicks share a kennel wall with the ducks. The ducks have a big heavy roasting pan of water. The chicks sometimes put their head through the kennel fencing and drink directly from the pan. MOST of the time, the ducks are fine with that.
Not sure what I will use when they are outside permanently.
