Chantecler Thread!

You would be hard pressed to find some Whites any better than what Greg Oakes has to offer. He is in Elora, Ontario. He is an attorney who serves on the Board of Directors for Chantecler Fanciers International. For contact info go to the website of CFI, listed earlier in this thread.

Haven't posted here for a while. Thought I would update you on some of my keeper pullets from this breeding season. Let's see if I remember how to post pictures!!

I hatched just over 100 chicks this year. Keeping 1 possibly 2 cockerels and I imagine 6ish pullets until next spring anyways.

Here are a few of them. They still need some work, but I am seeing progress every year in them and that is what I am hoping for at this stage. Trying to get some of the little things tidied up so I can work on some of the other stuff.

These are in the hen pen already. Established as keepers and from the 2 earlier hatches.
Here is a couple standing together. Sorry about the light, the photos were taking early in the morning and the sun was low.

This pullets ground colour is a little lighter than I would like, but her pencilling is developing nicely. She has a good head and a better back than some of my past birds.

Having a bit of trouble with shafting popping up, but going to slowly deal with it. Really like the strong head on this pullet.

I like the depth of body and the head on this girl. Would like her back to be a little longer and her tail to be better, but they are on a work in progress.

Another with ground colour I would like deeper, but on a whole, like this pullet.

This is the pen of younger pullets. Still have to choose what I might keep out of this pen. Will make the choice in the next week or so.

Coopslave, It's nice to see how your birds are coming along!

I managed to get some photos of a few of our youngesters this morning. The adults are molting and boy do they look awful.
