I don't have access to the parents at all. Also, the white is recessive, so that's why I'm using them. It SHOULD give me visually crele chicks faster that way, first generation will carry the white, and then when I breed his daughters back to him, less of them will carry white, etc...

Yeah, his personality is just amazing!

Do you know what White Chanteclers are masking under white?

No. Honestly I had never laid eyes on a Chantecler of any kind in person until last month. So I know squat. I just listened as much as I could to the breeders that were at that show...

I'd be happy to get any help I can.

I can understand that, I have a friend that shows Seabrights and padlocks all of his cages at shows. Was your rooster the one I heard about on showbirdbid that was at the show in Chehalis Washington?

Must be. That's where I got him. showbirdbid huh? What did you hear about him over there? I just went over and did a search and didn't come up with anything...

Yesterday we received 6.1" of snow. During the storm, only the Chanteclers were out and about. Even the Buckeyes went inside. Our lights come on at 3am. Looked out early this morning and seen a few Buckeyes wandering in the snow. All of the Chanteclers were searching for food. The Buckeyes and Chanteclers are in seperate pastures. It is quite a sight to look out and see the contrast of color on a white snow! hey are all pullets and still no eggs. hopeing the lighst will help kick them all into gear.

We recieved a total of 6.1" of snow in Monticello yesterday and today. Here are some photos we took.....

The children sure enjoyed playing in the snow. So did the Chanteclers.

Does anyone have an extra Buff Chantecler cockerel? We lost ours in a brooder accident (long story). This is our first season with the Chantecler. Would have sworn we had a cockerel, but as they matured it is apparent we have all pullets. May have to use a Buckeye this season.

I recognize these are critcally endangered and no one may care. But does anyone get large eggs from these birds? I'm reading only smallish and medium. They certainly are very regal.
