Chantecler Thread!

Pics
Hi Jamie

That sounds good, eggs or chicks, or both.

I like the looks of your Chanteclers, a very impresssive website you have. You have a couple of other breeds that I like but I have a full plate with the ones that I have chosen.
Jake,
We only ship eggs, so chicks would need to be picked up from the farm. It would be along haul from MI to PA, but you would be welcome! We could talk Chanteclers, and you can see the parenting fowl. With chicks, I do cull through them after they are hatched. So you wouldn't have to deal with any pea or rosecombs, or any other obvious flaws that would occur with hatching eggs.

Hi Deb

I wont rule out picking them up , its about an 8-9 hr drive if I have you located right. I have family in upstate NY and its about 12 hours to them coming through Ohio.

I would like to see your other breeds, you have several that I havent seen in real life yet.

To make a long story short I will try to see if a trip in April is doable. Ifnot then will want some eggs shipped.

I have been seeing quite a few request for the standard of perfection, and I would love to see more discussions on this thread about type, purpose, exedra!

This all being said, I still ***HIGHLY*** recommend purchasing the standard of perfection for yourself. It is something every breeder should have...as well as a weight scale. It doesn't just have the standards, but also lots of helpful images on proper type and basic disqualifications!

I haven't been on BYC much lately, with the house build...but wanted to say HI !!!

Does anyone on here know of somebody that I could get buff chicks or buff hatching eggs from? I'm in need of a nice cockeral. I purchased some last year and none of the cockerals ended up be worth breeding to the pullets.

You could try John Blehm (chickhatchery.com), or StarbrightFarm. You may also have some luck on the Chantecler Fanciers International.

StarbrightFarm sold her buff chantecler flock, a week ago she just had one pair left and they were for sale as well.
