I’m just sat here now listening to the fireworks too :hmm Lights and radio are on at the farm in each block so once it’s settled the lady there will go out switch everything off and check on everyone. I guess I will now if H has been upset tonight with how his stable is in the morning. Usually he’s ok but you never know if they are going to have a change of heart. Had a panic with the cat, Kitty! Usually when she’s finished her T she is sat at the door waiting to come in to go get on our bed. Typically tonight she wasn’t there! Must have been out a dozen times trying to find her. Thank god in the end she came out from either under Scotts car or the side of the garage in a panic. She’s in now not looking very happy on the bed but why she had to pick tonight to wander I don’t know!

That’s ashame on last nights meal. But as they say you never know until you try! The sticky chicken wings sound just my cup of T :drool Naughty or not!

:fl You have a good nights sleep tonight. Vivid dreams are just awful. I hate that feeling of waking and it all seeming pretty real still. Sometimes I’m carrying on that much in my sleep that Scott has to wake me up  Touch wood I’ve not been too bad the last few days on getting through the night. Clocks changing hasn’t helped as my body is now telling me it’s bed time at 9 rather than 10.

Hi Kim. Hope you got out on Harry today. I've had a much better day and Lauren and I rode the lads out again. They were a bit calmer most of the time but we both nearly hit the deck when they did kick off. Lauren asked for canter and got a full blown gallop with bucks thrown in for good measure from Rebel asas they disappeared into the distance whilst Rascal bounced up and down on the spot and threw me skywards with rather more enthusiasm and vigour than I was expecting and lost my grip on the reins so we were bronking rodeo style with me on buckle end of the reins desperately trying to haul his head up from between his legs whilst trying to land in the middle of the saddle each time I came down..... it was a tad dodgy for a few moments shall we say! We did also have some quite long spells of absolutely gorgeous collected trot through that was soooo smooth and light, in between the daftness.
I got a blurry photo of Lauren on Rebel whilst we were doing so....(brave of me to attempt photography whilst sitting on Rasc don't you think, but Reb was looking so handsome .... sadly I didn't entirely capture his good looks but at least Lauren is smiling!.... this was half a mile after he tanked off with her!

It was a glorious sunny afternoon but by the time I got the camera out we had moved into a more shaded part of the railway line and it looks disappointingly dull, but I can assure you it was perfect riding conditions. I hope you were able to make the most of the fine weather.
Nearly forgot to

and we have arrangements to get them out again tomorrow!

Woot I’m flying a flag!

Had someone to pass me Bran today so we went for a walk round the little block! Was not as quiet as I was hoping! They were both pretty wound up and Bran kept giving Harry love nips on his neck which just made the whole situation worse. Lots of silly jig jogging :(
Then we got a big tractor with a large implement on the back behind us and he didn’t just pass us but followed us. They are both better if things just pass rather than them knowing something is there but not quite what! Anyhow as it passed Bran just slammed the anchors on so we nearly parted company. But we got back in the end in one piece so I’m hoping the more we get out the better they will be.

Barbara your ride sounds very interesting from yesterday! Wow you did well there to stay on board! How’s your backside after landing in that saddle so many times?
It’s nice to see a pic of Lauren so I can put a face to a name now. Extra nice that she’s got lovely smile even though she had been tanked off with! Rebel sure is a handsome boy!

Do you know I’m absolutely fuming right now  Yes it’s bonfire night so to avoid the performance of Kitty not being in the house like the other night I fed her early and thought as soon as she is finished I will get her in before the fireworks start. Some absolute idiot in the next street set a firework off in daylight right above our house!!! :barnie Needless to say Kitty has now done a bunk! My birds absolutely papped their pants & flew all over in the run. I’ve spent over an hour & half trying to get Kitty out of the neighbours bramble hedge but she’s that scared because fireworks are now in full swing she won’t come to me :(

Now I’m not against people having or enjoying fireworks but to let them off in daylight when folk have not had chance to get their animals in & safe really boils my ........

Kim, I'm so pleased you got out on Harry. You are very brave riding and leading especially when they were hyped and you had a tractor and machine tailing you up the road. Mine hate anything like that behind them. That said, Rebel is pretty reluctant to pass them or for them to pass him either. If I can't get into a gateway I ask them to stop and then turn him around and try to get him past it. Sometimes he will get so far and then chicken out and suddenly spin and bolt. He was very good today though and went past a pick up towing a trailer with a mini digger on the back on a narrow lane. He hates trailers to start with but I would have put money on him not going past this one with the machine on the back, but he was better than Rascal who I was trying to use to shield Reb from it. Anyway, we score another

for today and another ride where we both made it home without hitting the deck! Lauren has one of these apps that tell you how far and how fast and what pace. Apparently we went 4.5 miles and trotted for 20 mins in total. We got a good relaxed working trot today without it becoming a free for all, so I was delighted about that but our attempt to have an extended trot immediately turned into an excuse for a buck and dive from both of them and general silliness and we were on a road at the time, so decided that they couldn't be trusted to try that again today as it wasn't safe. Lauren won't be available to ride again now until next week so I will have to try to motivate myself to get them out solo. I've got my farriers coming in the morning, so we will have some new shoes to put some wear on.
Could it have been the fireworks over the weekend that had your guys on their toes. They were pretty bad in the village here last night but my lot are reasonably ok as long as they are not confined to the stable. The lads were happy enough to stand inside munching unless there was a prolonged series of bangs, whizzes and pops. The girls would not go inside but were relaxed enough standing in the yard, so I put haylage outside for them. So sorry to read that you have had more problems with them tonight at home. Some people really are inconsiderate. Poor Kitty and how frustrating for you. :barnie

Can’t even see her now :( She’s only a small runty little thing too. Not much bigger than this Kitten pic!

Think I’m going to have to wait it out until it’s quiet and hope she comes home. It sure is frustrating and I’m that mad I’ve even told Scott to put something on the village Facebook page/group thanking the inconsiderate bleepers for scaring her away! My blood is just boiling right now! It’s a good job I’m not on Facebook as I don’t think I would be able to control myself!

Well done Barbara on getting out again :clap And well done Rebel on getting past the trailer & digger! I’m quite lucky that H is not too bothered about much. Can even manage chugging away steam engines. He’s ok if things keep going and don’t tail him. They both seemed fine until we got on the road. Both settled in the field before getting them in, both ok to get tacked up & brushed. Even getting on he wasn’t too bad. I know they have not hacked out together for a while but good god you would not have thought they were both in their 20’s today! Or that they go in the field together or stabled next to each other!

I’m off for another look for Kitty.............

Oh dear. I hope Kitty has found a good safe place to hide and turns up sooner or later.

I like your description of "love nips". Rascal is a terror for this but he almost always goes for the rump or stifle. Rebel will only tolerate so much and he has been known to clatter Rasc when he has been too irritating. For some reason today, Rebel was determined to get his own back and left saliva trails on Rascal's rump. I don't understand how they stand peacefully in the yard and stables all day and night but have to tease each other the moment we head out, like naughty little boys looking for mischief!

:wee She is home! Finally the fireworks have subsided and she must have felt safe to come out of where she was hiding. I feel much happier now because I certainly would not have slept if she was still out. Back where she belongs, getting comfy on our bed!

That’s boys for you Barbara  H and Bran have a real love hate relationship!

Fireworks again tonight! Kitty is in on the bed already!

Weekend before and the 5th is to be expected for fireworks but it’s been & gone now!
