Chat N Chicknfun Thread

I put the eggs in Wednesday afternoon

I was kinda hoping that since the spike was early, at I wouldn't have killed them

What do you think?
can you candle them in a couple of days?? I'd at least let stay through day 10 and see what you have at that point. Just try to manage the temps meanwhile. May take a few days to settle down...Silver could better advise though......

and if those things are expensive, easy to kill, and hard to breed then not for me lol

I know, I know! But I wish I could find a chicken that laid something like that.

Those eggs are so wonderful.

Silver, thanks so ,much for the reassurance.....I was thinking I should wait until day 7, just so that it will be CLEAR, and less likely that I will be second guessing myself

And Silver, you don't think the 94 will kill them? I am trying to rotate the entire tray every so often......but I am not sure if that will keep all of them alive, or just make sure I kill them all.

its really low end but no i think they could still make it ...henssometimes get off the nest for extended periods of time thru out the day and they still hatch ...

from what i am reading slightly lowe rtemperatues increase incubation time but dont necessarily kill them .. im looking and researching .. its the high temps that are more dangerous and can ill them

Well, I hadn't really thought of that............But of course, you would!!!! You think of everything

Where my duck pen is there is very little wind, mostly. I am surrounded with huge tall pine trees, and it really keeps the wind in my yard down a lot!! I'll have to think on that one a few, I guess you could put a big flat rock on top, maybe.........
I have a pair........that's why I am thinking I need another female. I really should have just gotten females, but......
I guess that means your ducky did not come home? AAAAWWWWWWWWWW, and I have been calling her like crazy!!!!!!!! I hope she just comes waddling up to your door!!!!!!

haha, c'mon it's a good idea, anyone would want to do that!
Yeah maybe a rock/brick. Perhaps you could connect 2 pieces of string to the the top and peg them down, like when you go camping

I think pairs go well but I do like the sound of trios, just gives each girls a break.
Yeah, I'm not sure what to do with Gemima Puddle Duck now? Do I get her a friend or should I move her on and start again some other time. I am still quite confused at how she has managed to disappear. When ever I go down there now I hope to see her waddling up through the grass to here friend
