Chat N Chicknfun Thread

Thank you Wendi:D !!
Sadly, no Miss duck has not returned home, I just liked that photo.
Yummy??? How can chicks be yummy? LOL!!!
YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A WYANDOTTE IS!?!?!?!? ..Oh Wendi!

Wyandottes are supposed to have one of the sweetest dispositions, and I heard maybe least likely to be cannibals or feather pluck.

Do you agree?

We have 2. 1 Columbian (bright snow white with black collar) and 1 blue wyandott (silver/blue/grey tint) Good meaty bird, good for brooding/Mama's. Great disposition, almost polite in manners. Lovely!

Good early morning. Woke up at 2:30am. That happens sometimes. DD helped me worm the chicks last night. She caught and held. She said "Momma this little chicks are strong! Much stronger than the bigger chicks we did first." They weren't fighting or struggling. She was talking about the Sulmtalers, they are 5 weeks old and she could feel the meatiness and heaviness they have already compared to the cream legbars that are a month older and are the ones she was comparing the Sulmtalers to.

Hey night owl...been working on that wormer protocol this evening/morning...trying to simplify so it's easy to follow. Guess I'll read a litlle more and hopefully catch a nap before sunrise. Lots to do today!
How cool and perceptive, your little girl.

Finding I'm liking both of your flocks, a bunch. But alas, DH said no more pens this year... It would be a disgrace to get 1 or 2 of those 2 breeds and then stick them in with unlike kinds of birds.
Mess up their breeding line for sure! By the way, if you get a chance what I wrote to Chickadoodles and JoTaylor are on page 523, I think. Meanwhile I'll get the document finished on worming protocol and PM to you asap, Hope your chickies are doing well and your little chicken helper gets to see them all get real big!

You better hurry if you get a nap before sunrise that is in 15 minutes or so. LOL. I will hope over to the alabama thread and snag that info. DD will be 17 in August and is quiet the chicken catcher, holder, she is not timid with them. Just looking at DD you would think she would never touch a chicken let alone be a chicken wrangler. She can debone a chicken too. I have no clue how to do that, she learned it in culinary class at high school this year. Thanks again for the info and go back to sleeeeeeeep since I cant. I get in insomnia cycles from time to time.

Well I did have 2 very sweat Wyandottes and they where so friendly and I could huddle them.
But then one of them died

and now I only have one, who is still very sweat and cute but is not happy to be held or be near humans, which is a real bummer.
