Bama, they are so full of personality is is amazing! You just fall in love with them! Or at least I did and on the turkey for 2013 board everyone is in love with their turkey's also! They are not as much of a mess as ducks and geese! I do not want any ducks on my place! Turkey NEED to bond with humans and NEED our company! I think that is the difference! When ever I go out to check my birds the turkey are the first to fly to me and are right in front of the gate! I have one that still wants to sit on my shoulder even though she is never going to fit on my shoulder again! So she settles for my back when she gets the chance and I am bent over! lol She jumps on! lol

Wow! I had no idea that they were like that. I wish I had a bigger place. I live in town so I think turkeys are out of the question. When I get those other two pens built my whole back yard will be pretty much gone.

I will have 2 chicken runs and 4 turkey pens that will be 20x20 and I hope they will be big enough! lol Our DIL has a pet turkey and she has had it for many years she and our son love it! They are like watch dogs for sure now! lol

Hello everyone!!!
Sorry I have been incommunicado the last few days. I had to finish those pens, and my fingers and arms hurt....LOL
I have chickens in there now!!!! The ducks seem to like having next door neighbors, rather than houseguests!!!!





Now I just have to clean up the mess around it, and I will be happy. I still have to build small coops inside there, but I can do that later. They are not in the pics, but I did put sort of medium size cages in there and covered them with tyvek so they are enclosed for purposes of them having a coop like area. I also covered the top with tyvek so that they have enough shade and rain protection.

I don't have time this am to catch up on all the posts- I will have to do that after I get home this afternoon. I have to go pull weeds and clean for my little older guy. After all that rain we had, the weeds are out of control again!! Typical Florida!!

I have not heard from Silver yet, hoping her trip went well!!

We went to our first poultry auction Sat and it was amazing how many birds went up for sale! They had hundreds of baby chicks all the way up to full grown turkeys....I did not buy anything. Just research this time.... lol

Yea. Don't know about your auctions, but be careful if you ever do buy any from there. I never had a good experience with birds from an auction.
