Chat N Chicknfun Thread

Well Ladies, I must go for now. I have to type up an irrigation proposal for DH so he can bill it out.
It's been fun! I have not had much computer time lately, so I am thrilled to have been able to converse with you ladies this am!!!
Hope you girls have a great day!
I'm so glad you ladies have joined our little chat thread!

Robert is my black kitty.. he is 7 turning 8 now.. and protects the whole house.. i love him to pieces, you better not make the kids cry or wake a baby cause he gets mad and starts pacing. when they are sick he trys to cuddle them. never had a silky before.. but dad has a no bantam rule.. my aunt on my mothers side had a mixed mess of bannys.. all over. and muscove ducks. the aunt on the other side had everything that could fly or have feathers.. but a no banny policy.. oh the stories about her geese. man she had a mean gander. we used to put odd chickens in her coop.. she would yell at us so bad but if you told her she could give em back.. nope they were hers shes keeping them

LOL, My dog is like that, anything that comes in the house that is a baby, she thinks is HERS!! when the chicks were hatching she laid right next to that brooder- for hours!! She is hilarious!

Why the no banty policy? I love my bantams!!!! My DH has a no muscovy rule- he can't handle the warty looking faces

Quote: I however am the 'raiser' of the animals, and I have a no more duck at all rule- OMG, they are a lot of work- baby wise. If you look back in the pics for this thread you will see a 2 man tent- that was my ducky brooder for a couple months-
I have to get another hen duck for in there, as there is only one, and my drake is very frisky......
But after that other hen, I am done- no more baby yuuuucks!!

I may get into quail- not sure yet, i have to get all my pens and coops built first because the chickens were her first....LOL

OK, I do have to go for now, I gotta get this thing typed up b4 he comes home looking for it- LOL
You all have a wonderful day, and I'll see you later!!!!

Chicknfun,

I love the yellow chick with the fluffy head... CUTE!

Also, are the bones of a silky really black? The bones? So odd, I have been reading that in some of the chicken breed info, and keep wondering what it would look like, to have a black skinned bird on the table, and to chew on the drum stick and find it was black too.

All of the other animals I have eaten had white bones...wonder how a silkie ended up with black ones.

Lilmynx,

Minne-SNOW-ta, huh? You and I can complain and whine together all winter long, :D. Or, maybe you love all that winter stuff, and then you will just have to listen to me whine. I like to whine and complain...makes me happy. :lau
