I would drive around a rural part of town with the windows open, and when you hear a rooster crow, stop at that house, and ask for some fertile eggs.
Seriously.
Experienced hatchers can get a ZERO return on shipped eggs.
And think, this way (the drive around until you hear a rooster crow way) you might find a new chicken friend!

Now for me *wah* sniff sniff
After the bear said hi to my turkeys, one of them seemed a bit off. I really don't think the bear touched the turkey, so maybe just the shock or scare did it? But one seemed sleepy and didn't really want to eat, so I force fed sugar water and some peanut butter, then brought it inside, in a dog crate, in the baby chick bathroom.
After the first day, it seemed lots better, and seemed to be eating better, and better poop. And we had the one turkey in the house for two days? Nope, longer, the bear was on Saturday.
But then, this morning, like out of the blue, I could tell it was going to die. And it did, later this afternoon.
What a bumm. The remaining turkey looks ok.
So sorry Alaskan! Some turkey just are too weak to make it! I have lost some the same day I got them! The one think I feel that really helps with my turkey is the ACV I use in their water every day!Big hugs to Silver! Especially for being such a great sister! Kudos!
