Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

Glad things seem to be going smoothly with them! Why can't he go back to his girls, though
Mostly because of their age. Foureira is the only one who is laying, so they are still very young. Their eggs are tiny to begin with, coupled with the fact that they are very young pullets, I don't want anything to hatch from them. For similar reasons I don't want them brooding yet, but that happens regardless. So I'm mainly making sure they can't hatch anything, and of course I'll break them if they go broody before 8 months

Haha, yeah, the sea spiders are a freaky bunch. 🤭

I'm mostly the same way, though if I move them I use a piece of paper or something. I just can't pick them up bare-handed. 😬 I mainly see them out around the coops, though, rather than in the house. Mostly wolfies, orb weavers, and harvestmen. There are a lot of funnel webs out there, too, but I almost never see the actual spiders with them.
I just scoop them up and hope that they do not run up my shirt-sleeves. 😂

Ah, I see. That does make sense.

Uhhh, I'll pass on that. 😅

Final update for today, Cruella and Lady Gaga are sleeping in the olive tree, Ursula is on top of some crates

No worries about predators with them sleeping in a tree?

agreed. Whenever a bug starst crawling up, I frantically flutter my hands to get it off

I can usually remain calm about it and not flap my hand or anything (...unless it's a stinging insect like a wasp, and then all bets are off), but I definitely try to encourage them to leave sooner rather than later. 😅
