Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

I'm definitely a homebody!
Me too!

I didn't know this about myself until I had an apartment all to myself. My space, my stuff, my quiet (relatively; you know how apartments can be).

Once we moved out here, to the middle of nowhere, I realized my favorite place to be is home. Even more so now that we have chickens!

Yeah, I think I'd err on the side of resting your foot and letting it heal, especially if the trip involves a lot of walking. I'm sure there will be other trips or opportunities to visit the same place in the future, too.

I hear you on that being a lot for one weekend! I make one trip out to Columbus, Ohio, once a year for the Ohio National Poultry Show and I feel like I need the whole year just to recover from that! :th I'm definitely a homebody!
Yeah I think so for sure.

And oh wow!!!

I'm the same exact way! I'm very much an introvert, so going out and especially interacting with others is mentally exhausting for me. I'd much rather just stay at home with my cat on my lap and a genetics book or my laptop open to BYC than go anywhere. 🥰

We're in the middle of nowhere, too, here. Well, not super isolated, there are several farms in the area and we do get big trucks that go by a couple times a week, hauling feed, grains, or livestock. I love the peace and quiet here, though. When my sister moved out originally, she moved to an apartment in the city and I spent a night there occasionally just to keep her company. I have no idea how people sleep in those conditions--so much noise!! :th

Today was busy and stressful 😩😭

Sorry to hear that, Dawg! :hugs Hopefully you'll have some time to relax today. How is your foot feeling this morning?

Thanks! I’m hoping so. And it’s feeling much better. I can actually walk without limping now lol it was so bad before that one staff was like are you limping? Put your freaking slippers on! He didn’t really say freakin I don’t think but yeah. He knew I brought them so he basically said it with that tone because I was clearly in pain and being a dummy resisting the slippers LOL once I did, it was much better. But even those still hurt a tiny bit. But better than shoes. But yeah, before I was literally limping and hobbling around. Now I can walk normal. But I’m still gonna take my name off I think. Just because of the shoe situation.

Me too. We're going out to lunch with our best friends today. Since it's a "drive into town," we'll do some shopping on the way.

By the time we get home, I'll be drained, mentally, and just want to be alone with the chickens.

I think I’m gonna go on the trip. I just tested shoes and it doesn’t hurt as bad as it did earlier. I can walk fine now. I think the padding from the gauze and sock helps maybe idk. I had that before though and it didn’t do anything. So maybe it’s just healing more. I tried sneakers thinking those would be better and that’s a no go. Hurt so bad and that’s with it pretty healed up. Can’t imagine when I was still limping around. It would’ve killed me lol but anyway, the museum is decent size but I can stop a lot and/or go slow so it should be okay.
